have the crows fallen asleep or what...

what is going on?

after such a great start, thus far in the third quarter,
they've not scored.

the hawks are playing so pathetic today they have failed to get back into the game.

Re:AAMI STADIUM (PREVIEW)
Who cares whose name is first on the sign!!! Aami stadium is located in the western suburbs anyway, so Port does have the right. Port was also a "club" before the Crows were even considered. It will be interesting to see what happens if Adelaide oval is brought into the equation!! It does have "Adelaide" in its name.....maybe the crows can move there and theirs can be the only name!!!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Would be more appropriate if Port Adelaide moved to Adelaide Oval as the club struggles to get people to their games. But it may not be all that easy to move to that venue as the South Australian Cricket Association is managing that venue and is pretty particular about who walks on that.

Des..the real name for "AAMI" stadium is football park..adelaide oval is just adelaide oval..but if the power where smart..they would move to adelaide oval.. they would have alot better chance of turning a profit playing there instead of losing 70000 a game...seems logical to me.

ozziegirl and shalamikan..just wondering..did u guys forget to read your power supporter hand book...your not supposed to be agreeing with crows fans...lol... i thought that was rule number 1...lol

Re:AAMI STADIUM Reply to this message
As a power fan too, I think that the crows have every right to Aami stadium, although ideally it would be better if Adelaide were at Adelaide oval( because of its'name and location) and Port were at Aami (again because it is in the western suburbs). But seeing as the crows membership is way higher than Ports, and the fact that they were in the AFL before port entered, they have every right to their name being first. It doesnt have anything to do with whether or not the power is asscociated with the magpies, (I believe that it was Port Adelaide that got the license so although they are different teams, they are the one area), because the magpies were not an AFL club( not the port ones anyway!) before 1991 when the crows entered the competition. It would probably do Port some good to go to Adelaide oval as the crowd would look bigger ( not so many empty seats)!!

As a power fan i agree, the crows were here first and AAMi stadium is the Crows home ground, we just play there, the sooner the power move to adelaide oval the better for Footy in SA.

Re:AAMI STADIUM Reply to this message
The port you are talking about is an sanfl club not the port power afl club, there is a difference between port power and port magpies whether you want to admit it or not.port power is not the port adelaide magpies so therefore they weren't here first. crows were here first whether you like it or not and who cares anyway. crows have aami stadium so why would they want adelaide oval anyway.talk about sour grapes.

just on AAMI Stadium - I would've thought they'd have more handicapped parking- cause most South Australia as we all know are retarded. But doesn't mean we don't love you.

Re:AAMI STADIUM Reply to this message
well twisted.. Footy park is the HOME of the adelaide crows!! Alberton is the home of the power, along with the magpies which where the club that was here first,NOT THE POWER!! And the Crows where that nice that they choose teal blue seats just so it looked like the was actually a crowd at a port game!! Not all landlords are that nice!! lol
But seeing that port are running at a $70000 loss for every home game at footy park..wont be long till it will be "Adelaide oval:home of the power".. so we wont have to worry about who's first!! Atleast that way port might have a chance of half filling a stadium..As long as its pension week or they have won there free tickets at port adelaide dole office!!! All they needed to do was sign there name right..i hear that they still have plenty of tickets available!!

Re:AAMI STADIUM (PREVIEW)
How many crows fans here would boycott the showdown out of fear of drunken Port supporters??
------------------------- ------------------------- ---------

Steady on there chucker, could be my mates or some rellies you're talking about there. lol Lived down the Port for nearly 15 years (Birkenhead- oh yeah suck in that cement dust! lol, Semaphore- the Federal hotel was so close the flat I lived in, if I fell out the front door I was practically home).

Spose there will be some Crows fans who will stay away for that reason but by and large the biggest reason, if it is a Port home game, is that Crows season ticket holders in general dont want to give Port anything,I mean anything at all!

Re:AAMI STADIUM Reply to this message
SPORT Minister Michael Wright has weighed into the AAMI Stadium alcohol debate, saying he doesn't want young families deterred by drunken louts at the footy.

"I'm not so sure that it's going to be family friendly," Mr Wright told a press conference today.

"The last thing we want is loutish behaviour at AAMI Stadium.

"The last thing we want is young families being impacted by people who drink too much and don't know how to behave themselves."

Mr Wright urged the SANFL to monitor crowd behaviour in the stands where alcohol is permitted.

"All I am asking is that a very careful eye be kept on it," he said.

"We have prided ourselves in being a stadium that hasn't gone in the direction of other stadiums and that has served us well. Obviously the SANFL has changed tack. All I am saying is keep a watchful eye on that and if it is not working we may have to revert to our old policy."

SANFL overturns alcohol in seats ban

Adelaide Crows officials are urging fans not to boycott AAMI Stadium following a backlash at the decision to allow fans to drink alcohol in their seats.

Adelaide chief executive Steven Trigg yesterday revealed his club's futile opposition to the SANFL's decision to allow alcohol to be consumed at 49,000 of AAMI Stadium's 51,515 seats for the first time.

"We are at odds with this one," Mr Trigg said. "We were certainly opposed to it for this year after we had told our members during the renewal process that it would not be happening."

Adelaide's official protest – which was rejected by the SANFL, the stadium's owner – is being matched by Crows fans, more so than Power supporters, vowing on AdelaideNow to turn in their memberships in protest.

"We sincerely hope they don't, not before they give it a go," Mr Trigg said. "I appeal to them to try it first.

"When the trial in the northern stand was announced last year, there were real concerns among our fans. But, after they tried it, there was no withdrawal of memberships ...

Prized No.4 selection in 2008 NAB AFL Draft Hamish Hartlett is also in contention to make his Port Adelaide debut.

At training on Wednesday, the 18-year-old showed he had fully recovered from a post-season shoulder reconstruction with some solid attacks on the ball and the man.

“Hamish will come into calculations and we were disappointed he couldn’t play last week,” Primus said.

“Since Christmas, when he’s been able to do contact drills, he’s trained really well. He’s a beautiful, skilled player and we think he can play a little bit inside too.

“He’s a first-year player, so we’ll ease him into it, but we think he’s going to be a pretty good player for us in the years to come.”

Promising second-round draft-pick Jackson Trengove (knee) is unavailable, as is rookie Matthew Martin, who strained his AC joint in the game on Saturday.

The Power will name a 29-man squad on Thursday, which will be trimmed down closer to the game at Manuka Oval.

Dream Team watch – Josh Carr is rated a $331,300 midfielder in Toyota AFL Dream Team 2009.

Re:AAMI STADIUM Reply to this message
EX-FREMANTLE midfielder Josh Carr will play his first game back in the Port Adelaide colours this week since walking out on the club in 2004.

Carr, 28, will be part of a near full-strength Power line-up to take on the Swans in Canberra on Sunday.

The gritty onballer missed Saturday’ *** -out against SANFL sides Sturt and the Port Adelaide Magpies after injuring his groin at training. But on Wednesday assistant coach Matthew Primus said the crowd favourite was fit and raring to go.

“Josh has got the all clear to play after getting through training today. It will be his first run in our colours for a number of years and the boys are looking forward to that,” Primus said.

“He’s had enough of running around ovals and he can’t wait to get out there and prove to everyone why we wanted to get him back.”

Carr will be one of several senior players eased back into the Port Adelaide side during the NAB Cup.

Primus said the pre-season competition would provide an opportunity for both young and old to work their way into some form heading into round one.

“We’ve got a few senior guys like Peter Burgoyne and Chad Cornes, who had injuries last year and we’re looking forward to them getting back out there,” Primus said.

“We’re looking for a bit from the guys that have impressed, like Nick Lower and Wade Thompson and also for guys like Troy Chaplin and Alipate Carlile to lift a little bit too.”

Swans coach Paul Roos has already declared the result of Sunday’s game as ‘irrelevant’ to his team, but Primus said it was a different story for the Power.

“Winning is pretty important for us and the idea that you want to win every game rings true at times,” Primus said.

“We’re going to play as good a team as we can, barring guys that are injured or ... just aren’t fit enough. We want to win this game and we think it will be a good test”.

Prized No.4 selection in 2008 NAB AFL Draft Hamish Hartlett is also in co ...
