| Nothing better than coming home after being somewhere exotic... Love New York, Love London, Love Bangkok, but Love Sydney more than anywhere else in the world! |

Laos was one of the most friendly places Ive been. I didnt spend as much time there as Id have like to, but the people really went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I dont think I paid for accomodation except. Most people (esp. in the countryside) were so thrilled to see an outsider, they'd make you spend the night at their homes. It was excellent.
West Africa was wonderful in some places as well. A local hip hop show in Senegal where myself & a New Zealand bloke were the only white people there, and all the people there wanted to dance with us, and show us how to dance, buy us beers etc. was great.
Iran was a very pleasant surprise. People (outside Tehran) were forever buying me cups of tea, asking to be my guide asking me to stay with them etc (without EVER asking for anything in return) really restored my faith in humanity after I was becoming jaded. |

| Your topic is too generalised, unless you have to consider your purpose of your travel. As a guest, expatriate, tourist, student exchange, business trips and of course the duration of your visits if one is to desscribe the feelings of the place... and the chance to assimilate or immersed into the city/place and normally it is the ordinary pple that make your days. Considering these factors, then one can really give you the insight of the best place travelled |

absolutely no doubt in my mind. Australia. i have travelled europe and the west coast of usa . i saw south africa during apartheid and again after it finished.
going by what my overseas counterparts indicate australia is a number one choice of destination.
my next big overseas will be to the 8th state ...NZ. well its almost aussieland and i swore after my last trip i would never ever leave australia again . i have had holidays in every state except tasmania . in every state i have found things that totally amazed me.
be proud aussies the world is jealous of our lifestyle and our beautiful country. |

| I really dont think the claims of NZ being our "little brother" or "extra state" are correct. Sure, Auckland & the North is pretty similar, but go down south, and they have their own, similar, but different culture. You really begin to realise you're in another country down south. |

| You are so right aaronzig, the South Island is so different from the North. People are friendlier, and its a thrill seekers paradise. I'm a North Islander. |

Depends on at what time you are thinking. If you ask me this cold Winter eevening, I would say straight under a warm blanket in my bed, enjoying the warmth created by the glow of the heater, holding a good book, after a hearty meal.... |

| Never been, but it's supposed to be super laid back. Not much to do except lay around the place, apparently. |

| Rarotonga and it's people are amazing. Nothing to do and all day to do it.The people treat you like family. I've visited three times and each time it has been like magic.Took my wife there for our honeymoon and she recon's it's better than the Greek Islands, where she lived and worked on cruise liners for three years. You need to stay about ten days, then you get "into the groove" time is meaningless.Beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal clear water, and, you've got it all to yourself. No shopping. Great food, drink and music.Check it out. |

Bilbao in spain is nice !
Great food nice afternoon walks and good shopping for the girls. Also Food and Shopping as good or better price is good and quality better than what we get hear (made in China). When people say Europe is expensive best get away from tourist areas and go down some nice side streets to meet the real people. |

Best travel place in the world would be Ireland, Cyprus, The Middle East and Egypt.
But if I win Lotto, I would like to try New York, San Francisco and South America and Nepal (but for the last 2 off the normal tourist routes) |

Tanzania, especially the Serengetti, and Ngorogoro. There is a magical little island on Lake Victoria called Lakuba, very private and secluded. Olduvai Gorge is awe inspiring, thought to be a site of some of the earliest humans.
Dubai is a great place for families, Wild Wadi Water park is super fun, and Jumeirah Beach Hotel a lovely place to stay.
Also Egypt, the very south of Wales ( great fish'n'chips!),
and Japan, (for me a total culture shock). |
