It all depends on your daughters age really.
Also where you are flying from to get to Hong Kong.
If you can book early and bounce out of Perth, Gold Coast or Melbourne I would say take an Air Aisa flight to KL and then an AIR ASIA cheap fare to Hong Kong. Its only $129 each way to KL from Perth or Melb and bugger all from KL to Hong Kong.
See if flight centre can beat it???
www.airasia.com I couldnt load the website as I am on a bad connection, but it is who we travel with now for cheap fares. |

| Sorry.. also wanted to add that Singapore is fantastic for shopping if you go at the right time of year. Much cleaner and safer than Hong Kong also |

Hong Kong is very safe. I have been there 5 times to the best of my recollection
There is so much to see. Shopping is the least of it
Go to Taikoo shopping centre for the best bargains, as it is out of the tourist areas and there is no need to bargain, the prices are far less than those in Central and Tsim Sha Tsui
Go by MTR to Tai Koo station on the Island Line |

For your more upmarket stores you would probably want to check out Landmark in Central and Pacific Place in Admiralty (Seibu in Pacific Place was one of my favourite places to shop) .
If you catch the MTR to Admiralty Station to go to Pacific Place there is a really cool mall just above the station with a lot of shops that would probably suit a teenage girl. Sorry, I can't remember the name of the mall.
A lot of people like Temple Street but I always thought the stuff was a bit cheap and nasty there.
If you have a teenage daughter, you can't go past Causeway Bay for shopping. There's a bunch of smaller shops with some great stuff and you can usually find a bargain.
Temple Street is on Kowloon side but the rest of the places can be found on the Island Line.
I hope that helps. |

| I think you mean the Ocean Terminal. 700 shops, all airconditioned. It is vast, all the brand shops are there and last time we went during the shopping festival most gear was 50-60% off. Impressive shopping mall, but get ready to walk, it goes for ever in all directions. |

.......and very expensive, if all you are going to HK for is shopping.
Personally, you can do that here and have a look at the culture and places of historic interest there. |

Singapore. Great for shopping but a rather sterile environment.
Hong Kong is virile. Heaps to do besides shopping. Remember the costs of hotels has risen so choose your time carefully. Transport is clean and easy. Take a tram just for the experience?. Buy an Octopus Card.
You could try out of town Shatin plaza. 15 mins north from Kowloon by train. It stops next to the plaza. Do not be put off by cross harbour locations. Use the ferries to see the sights by day and night. |
