Hi danniikal,
What the director and the managers own is separate from what the company owns. There's more besides the unit at Chidori Court, 1 Cronin Ave., Main Beach 4217 ?

Club LaBourse Travel Pty Ltd appears to be a member of neither AFTA nor the Travel Compensation Fund.

Anybody contact ACCC about non-receipt of vouchers ?
Probably wouldn't matter: unlikely it'd do anything useful.

Cosmos and Globus both advertising Club LaBourse Travel [CLBT]as an agent.CLBT has a new address at Miami QLD 4220, and other new contact details. Can't locate on TCF website :guess they still lack a Travel Agent Licence in any State or the ACT.

I see CLBT also went into voluntary winding up today. Does anyone know who the liquidator is?

Administrator of Club LaBourse Travel Pty Ltd is KordaMentha. Website www.kordamentha.com
Contact Brendon Welch, 07 5574 1322 or bwelch@kordamentha.com
Unlikely that Brian Leslie Wates left anything apart from the oily rag smell before his departure.

Write4Fun Art Competition closing 11/05/09. Cash prizes (18) total $2 250.
Anybody notice the free advertising by newspapers and schools across Australia and New Zealand ?
Should its web page be honest and state :"Write4Fun was established by Australasian Publishing Group to enhance the profits of its director and its shareholder"?
We have the ACCC to check on false advertising, don't we.
Oboy : lol.

Re:Club La-Bourse Reply to this message
ACCC quite accepting of Write4Fun. Evidently an exceptional instance of caveat emptor. Should your very chuffed picaninny be among the hundreds or thousands accepted for publication,it's up to you, the parent/s, to decide whether or no to buy the book, plaque, whatever, to swell the coffers of Write4Fun, Australasian Publishing Group and its shareholder.
Thank goodness for the protection from ourselves that we all have from our State and Federal bodies !

Re:Club La-Bourse Reply to this message
My husband joined La Bourse 18 months ago and I was very sceptical of their operations from the start. Every time I tried to book accommodation it was 'not available in that city or country' - only used them twice, and the accommodation I was eventually given was below standard. The staff were not helpful or efficent. It was a complete waste of money - you can get much better results online doing the booking yourself. We will never get caught again by scammers like these people. Hope justice is served on them.

Re:Club La-Bourse Reply to this message
pepparich,
You might like to check the bona fides of Classic Holiday Club (founded by George Tawaf) which has taken over operations of Club LaBourse. You'll be pleased to know that Felicity McKellar (once co-director of Club LaBourse with Wates ) was retained by IYC Travel to resume her role from Club LaBourse Travel Pty Ltd.
Justice is like beauty - in this instance depending on ASIC as the beholder.

Re:Club La-Bourse Reply to this message
Forget about justice. Brian Leslie Wates of Club LaBourse infamy shot back to UK; let's hope ASIC and ATO after its hide.
Some of our few dozen - not many - have had some success with chargeback (where m/ship paid by credit card).
Banks frequently have stalled or denied liability, in which case contact Financial Ombudsman Service.
Good luck - you'll need it.

Re:Club La-Bourse Reply to this message
I have been stung by Club Labourse of $5,887 way back September 2005. It took us awhile to get the copy of the tax invoice. Money that me and my husband work hard for. We don't know how to get the money back and it has been since 2005.

Re:Club La-Bourse Reply to this message
It's fairly certain that you won't get anything back. Perhaps if more of you complain to ACCC, ASIC and your State/Territory Dept. Fair Trading, and Fed and State/Territory politicians, that somebody might take some appropriate action. Credit card providers should be contacted, but most will say you're too late; however, you might be able to build a case as to why you were unable to act. Check this website for info on Financial Ombudsman Service.

Re:Club La-Bourse Reply to this message
It went on for several years. False promises clearly made with the successful intent to defraud we gullible consumers in NT, SA, NSW, Q/land and Vic.
ACCC, ASIC, Departments of Fair Trading, State and Fed politicians haven't achieved anything noticeable.
Anybody contacted State or Territory Fraud Squad ? This despite some of the scammers alleged to have left the country (notably associate Brian Leslie Wates); good ol' Iain Mervyn Sprod last reported as driving a cab.
