| shirl no insult or insensitivity is intended, it is easy to sit here and judge not ever having had to live or grow up with this, it is something many of us may never understand fully. |

Don't forget that not every camp was a death camp.
People did enter the system and were released.
At the normal concentration camps, between 30% to 70% of their total death tolls occured during the last few weeks of the war and the immediate days after liberation due to complete breakdown of supply and administration of the camps. This led to death by starvation and disease.
To use Bergen Belsen as an example, it was in operation for 12 years with a death toll of around 15,000 but during the final few weeks of the war around 20,000 died from disease and starvation - hence the photos and pictures we have of bodies laying around everywhere at the time of liberation. |

on about an alleged holocaust
There is no doubt the holocaust happened and to claim other wise is just childish. The area I have a problem with is how long do people think they can play the guilt card, 2, 3 or ten generations ?
It’s easy and very convenient to blame dysfunctional marriages etc on the holocaust. Land was taken of the Arabs to compensate and to allow the Jews to have their own country. Yes despite this all we every here is complaints. Time to grow up and get over it. |

Time to grow up and get over it.
yeah sure 6 million inviduals killed.. on top of that whole communitites dispalced .... and your answer is to grow up and get over it ! ....... Your kidding right ?
Whilst i concur that the dispacement of Palestinians was incorrect... i really find that to bring this into the actual argument is almost a cheap shot.... read the original post before you just put your ill informed view forward.
Naturally the holocaust has effected generation of Jews ... how could it not and as is documneted that once a family becomes dysfunctional it takes time to remedy . As for the Guilt card you mention .... Does the State of Isreal act guilty or paranoid ... i feel more the later ! |

There were over 25 million people killed in Russia and the surrounding countries during WW2. How often do you here they complaining and asking for compensation ? It’s been over 60 years, it’s time they got over it and stopped whinging. |

ahhh the humanity ....your missing the point i actually dont think they whinge .. i think they are agressive and paranoid but they dont whinge .
saying that to write off 6 million people is not that easy. And as for your anaology to Russia ....how many of these were lost in combat ( a totally different scenario).
As for the state of Isreal .... it has got over it ..... it continues to be agressive and the rest of the Arab world lives n fear of the Isreali military machine! So i say to the Palastinains, Syria , Jordan and Egypt get over it ...its historical !!! |

Well I don’t know about a pack of whingers but certainly think they need to stop playing the guilty card all the time. It’s starting to wear a bit thin and they are fast losing any sympathy they had. |

| rplaz23 Not being rude but you might want to read a few books about the Jewish people since WW2. There are some remarkable stories including how the decision on giving the Arab land to the Jews was made. |

For Australia, as for many nations, the First World War remains the most costly conflict in terms of deaths and casualties. From a population of fewer than five million, 416,809 men enlisted, of which over 60,000 were killed and 156,000 wounded, gassed, or taken prisoner. (Taken from the Australian War Memorial website).
By proportion, Australia lost equally staggering amounts of lives in WWI as the Holocaust did in WWII. Yet Australians never whinged or whined for pity from the Turkish or German governments. And the families of POW's who worked on the Burma-Thailand Railway or who died in Changi prison in WWII aren't claiming to be maladjusted. They got on with their lives the best they could.
Yes these things happened ... yes they were dreadful ... but they are finished with. Something is only ever a problem if you hang onto it and continue to let it BE a problem. I'm not saying to forget these things happened - far from it. I'm just saying that people need to move on. |

You went to Monash – no wonder you don’t know anything about this, would have to be one of the most politically correct uni’s around. Do a bit of independent studies and you will understand. |

Didn’t think “guilt trip” was aggressive but am happy to stand corrected if it keeps you happy. As for independent study, you can’t expect me to do everything for you ? At the same time not a bad idea to buy a dictionary, might help with the spelling. |

Perhaps, infantry/wharfy, I should address you as infant, as that is your level of maturity.
There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that the Holocaust did happen. Of course, you are far too ignorant to know that. |

tlkr..I think you'll find it would be the same if we had to endure storys about the japs in the world war.
At some stage we all have to move on. We don't have to forget...but we do have to be able to live in this time, not times long gone. |

| Yahoo7 you really must do better than this , you allow wharfy 7000 a multiple id troll to say "here we go again the jews banging on about an (alleged) holocaust" and then ban rplaz for getting upset about what is utterly disgusting behaviour by others. One minute you are trying to toughen up on your TOS, the next you are allowing this insult to holocaust survivors and their families. Consistancy is called for here Yahoo7. |

He is a troll and it would be great if yahoo could block the IP address so infant cannot annoy anyone else. |

| Yahho sent me a message reminding me of my obligations under the TOS, fair enough but now they have drawn a line in the sand I will be reminding them about their obligation to shut down those who seek to villify through race or culture. Some of the things written here about jews and the demeaning of the holocaust are repulsive in the extreme. |

Ground-Imaging Forensic Radar
using sophisticated electronic ground radar, has found no evidence of mass graves there.
For six days in October 1999, an Australian team headed by Richard Krege, a qualified electronics engineer, carried out an examination of the soil at the site of the former Treblinka II camp in Poland, where, Holocaust historians say, more than half a million Jews were put to death in gas chambers and then buried in mass graves.
According to the Encyclopedia of the Holocaust (1997), for example, "a total of 870,000 people" were killed and buried at Treblinka between July 1942 and April 1943. Then, between April and July 1943, the hundreds of thousands of corpses were allegedly dug up and burned in batches of 2,000 or 2,500 on large grids made of railway ties.
"Historians say that the bodies were exhumed and cremated toward the end of the Treblinka camp's use in 1943, but we found no indication that any mass graves ever existed," he says. "Personally, I don't think there was a mass extermination camp there at all."
Krege prepared a detailed report on his Treblinka investigation. He says that he would welcome the formation, possibly under United Nations auspices, of an international team of neutral, qualified specialists, to carry out similar investigations at the sites of all the wartime German camps.
Krege and his team are associated with, and funded by, the Adelaide Institute, a south Australia revisionist "think tank." Its director, Dr. Fredrick Töben, was jailed in Germany for seven months in 1999 for disputing Holocaust extermination claims.

I am furious here at the attitude of some of you people……..you should be totally ashamed of yourselves. I am just appalled.
It is not so easy for many Holocaust survivors.....as I said on the previous page..my ex son-in-law, is a child of camp survivors. Both he and his sister, are extremely confused emotionally because of it, as the home was a very dysfunctional one, due to the mental instability of both parents.
The marriages of both of them disintegrated because of it.
In the case of my daughter, she knew what she was dealing with and went with him for therapy for six years, before calling it quits. It was an extremely distressing situation.
I get so annoyed at people who trivialise it. I can't begin to imagine the horrendous situations, these people endured. Many will not speak about it.
It is not so easy to move on.
Maybe you should read about what they endured.
About ten years ago, the husband of a neighbour died and I was going in to sit with her on a daily basis. She had no surviving family , all having been killed in the Holocaust.
I have read books on what happened and seen it on film, but being in her distressed condition, she started to tell me what had happened to her.
Boy…..it blew me for six, let me tell you. It was just the most awful thing and inconceivable.
More so because she was about 14 years old and was assigned to cleaning the offices of Dr. Mengele. The stories from that defy belief.
So those that say it didn’t happen, or it wasn’t so bad………I suggest you think again
If you are in Sydney or Melbourne, I would strongly recommend that you visit the Holocaust museum in one of these cities.
