Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
Right... lets start preparing for this Saturday! Brisbane racing sees four top races:

$1,000,000 AAMI Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) - Group 1
$500,000 BMW Queensland Derby (2400m) - Group 1
$500,000 Racetree TJ Smith Plate (1600m) - Group 1
$300,000 Australian Special Metals Brisbane Cup (2400m) - Group 2

The track conditions are expected to be boggy - Heavy(8) - so it's going to be extremely difficult to pick the winners.

But that's why I'm here... to guide you so that like me, you can make some tax free income by just having some Saturday afternoon fun, like previous Saturdays.

In previous weeks, have I let anyone down so far? No!
In previous weeks, have my selections been on track? Yes!
In previous weeks, haven't we been winning? Yes!

Then... it's too bloody obvious we can come up with the goods again, irrespective of a heavy track, rain, hail or sunshine!!!!

So just get ready... get your money organised... be prepared!

I will help you make your bookie cry....

The Group One Stradbroke (1400m) will be run on June 6... and provides a great chance to let you earn some tax free income.

I'll say this, just keep in mind two horses for the time being:

1. All Silent
2. Black Pirahna

These two nags are super super fit, and very nicely weighted in the race.

Please... jot them down in your little black book!
------------------------- ------------------------- ----------------

That's what I said back then.

Unfortunately, All Silent did not take up the final acceptances and so it will not run. The trainer says the track will be too wet, and it's not worth risking a good horse. Damn!!!!!!

Black Pirahna will be running, though!

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
OK everybody.... Saturday racing is on. It's going to be a bloody bog in Brisbane and I'm going to tackle the most challenging of all races to get into the money. But I'm a racing genius... let's see if I can meet the challenge and help you all go home with some extra tax free income.

Because it's a mad day tomorrow, we will just concentrate on one race:-

The Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) - Group 1

They all have a chance in this. But I really see three nags that stand out for me:

ORTENSIA
- She won last Saturday to qualify for this.
- She is nicely weighted on 51.5kg.
- Barrier is a bummer though... gate 16.
- She should plough through the mud.
- She's piloted by champion jockey Craig Williams.
- She's super fit and is the best filly in Australia.
- She's on an incredible winning streak.

MR BARITONE
- He won this race last year at massive 40+/1 odds.
- He almost beat ORTENSIA last Saturday.
- He's nicely weighted on 53.5kg.
- He'll plough through the mud.
- Barrier 2 is beautiful... but he must not see daylight until the last 200 meters.
- He's piloted by none other than Group 1 jockey Glen Boss (Makybe Diva fame).
- He's in tip top form to win back to back Stardbrokes.

BLACK PIRHANA
- He almost nailed glamour horse, Apache Cat, on the line the other Saturday.
- He's very nicely weighted on 55kg.
- Nicely drawn in barrier 4.
- He loves the distance.
- Has a very smart trainer who knows how to place them.
- He might struggle in the conditions, but he is "tough as boots"
- I feel certain he'll be storming home.

I suggest putting your money for a place on any or all of these nags.

Only tomorrow will I be in a position to really know which one will win.

So good luck to you all... and remember... WINNERS ARE GRINNERS!!

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
Dear NH,

I took your advice that you gave me ( lzissimous). I decided to put a place on all three :
ORTENSIA
MR BARITONE
BLACK PIRHANA

And to my surprise you were correct. I must admitt i was unsure that you were accurate and i will now belive :)
I only bet small dollars and i made a $13.00 profit on ORTENSIA and BLACK PIRHANA, i know it is a small profit but for me it was exciting as i have never had a punt or never knew how to..
I want to say thankyou and i cant wait till your next race advice...

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
CONGRATULATIONS.....

To those who have faith in my super duper racing expertise I hope you made lots of tax free income from my advice...

Ortensia came 3rd
Mr Baritone came 4th
Black Pirhana came 1st

I won the trifecta by boxing the above with Danleigh (2nd)... and I got the First 4.

But best of all, just before the race started, after all things considered, and with balls of steel, I spread $20,000 on the nose on Black Pirhana at 4/1 to return $100,000.

That's $80,000 tax free income!!!!!! That's more than the average gross wage a worker makes in a year... and I did it in the space of a few minutes!

Needless to say... my wife is still smiling... my bookies are crying.... and I'm just delighted I pulled it off again for all you folk!

Not to be too c o c k y, but.... AM I GOOD OR AM I BRILLIANT?

Can we do it again next week, and earn even more tax free income?

I say "YES WE CAN!"

You are indeed brilliant NH and very entertaining.
Out of all the posters here you actually put your head on the block each week.
Personally I restrict my gambling to the Forex markets, but I always make a point of checking your results.
Good Stuff!

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
bahamian.... I don't gamble, honest! I look at the 300 to 400 horses that will run in the city races on the Saturday and narrow it down to one, two of three that I feel at least 95% confident will give me a positive return. And on average over the years, for 48 out of 52 Saturdays in each year I will get a return. If I make just $10,000 profit each time (I make significantly more), in a year I couldn't do that gambling on the stock exchange. But I do buy shares in good companies for the dividend income.

deborhamac... when the bookies see me coming, they smile thinking we'll get him this time. The moment they have my dough, they immediately spread the risk with other bookies and the TAB. They're smart. And when I collect, they don't actually cry... they pat me on the back and say "Good on ya, mate!"

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
Did you know you can back a number of horses in the same race, and whichever wins you will still make a profit? I'll show you.

Consider Saturday's Stradbroke and the horses favoured

Danleigh 10/1
Black Pirahana 3/1 Fav
Mr Baritone 7/1
Ortensia 6/1

And lets say we also liked Royal discretion 17/1

Say we want to bet $100 on these horses and you liked the favourite but need to cover yourself just in case. What you do is deduct 1 from the price of each horse and divide it into $100 with the balance going on your favourite. So...

Danleigh - You bet $11 win
Mr Baritone - You bet $17 win
Ortensia - You bet $20 win
Royal Discretion - You bet $6 win
Black Pitahana - You bet the balance of $100 being $42 win (which hopefully wins)

Now... if any of these horse win, you will still win more than your $100. Watch this...

Danleigh - $11 @ 10/1 = $121. That's a profit of $21 on your $100.
Mr Baritone - $17 @ 7/1 = $136. That's a profit of $36 on your $100.
Ortensia - $20 @ 6/1 = $140. That's a profit of $40 on your $100.
Royal Discretion - $6 @ 17/1 = $108. That's a profit of $8 on your $100.
Black Pirhana - $42 @ 3/1 = $168. That's a profit of $68 on your $100.

Now isn't that clever? That's punting magic!!!!!!!
Can you see why I'm so smart?
Can you see why I'm a winner?

Think about it... this is an intelligent strategy on how to beat the system!

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
I don't like to boast about wealth... it's not a nice thing to do. But I do like talking about winning!

Yeah... my bank account is very healthy even despite constantly buying various assets with my "tax free income". I try to buy capital appreciating income producing assets and minimize spending on those depreciating type assets.

And all... this done on the back of punting on the horses!

I used to work... then I met a bloke who taught me what I know today and I've never looked back.... and my motto is:

... A gambler gambles on anything
... But a punter only bets to win

That about sums me up!

bahamian.... I don't gamble, honest! <<<<

My apologies, you punt, actually I prefer gambler it sounds more romantic and punter has connotations such as "mug" punter.
Nice thing about "punting" on the Forex market is you cannot lose all your stake, in every other way it is very much like betting on horses, you have to study form, know where the resistance points are and be able to spot a trend.
Nice thing is you can make money on the up and downside.
The AUD is ideal for punting on Forex, it is quite narrow based, sensitive to commodity prices and very volatile.

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
I'm so glad some people appreciate my tips. All I'm trying to do is help you all to earn some tax free income... to have a break in life by earning tax free money without working. Heck... in my vocabulary, the word 'work' is a dirty word. But hey, there is nothing wrong with it... if you have to!

The trick in this game is not to get carried away. I mean, look at today's racing... I skip it! I leave it to the mug punters today.

But if someone were to ask me, what I would have backed today had I been at the races, I probably would say Moonee Valley Race 7 - Mr Sargood for a place.

Anyway, next Saturday I will try my best to do my bit to help you all earn some tax free income... to help beat the recession!

To open a TAB account, get onto your State TAB website or go to a TAB shop and they can help you. But if you want to be able to pay money into your TAB account with a credit card, you'll need to supply various personal information etc etc before they'll allow that.

Your money is not tax free.

That 'healthy' bank balance earns interest which attracts tax.

Say you have a windfall of $10,000... you put it in a bank... the annual interest will be say $1,000 before tax... lets say $800 after tax. In a year you have earnt $800 from that $10,000.... BIG DEAL!!!!!

Me... I invest that $10,000 each Saturday on the horses and double my money each time. In a year I make $520,000 tax free from that $10,000... so who is smart?
