Just because someone earns a lot of money, or is rich, how can you generalise by saying they are the biggest tax cheats? How do you know they are tax cheats? They have their tax affairs handled by registered tax accountants who are members of professional accounting bodies and who are subjected to tax audits. I don't think you can generalise. You can say some might be tx cheats but not all.

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
OK everybody... lets get down to business... lets all just think tax free income... tax free income... tax free income!

I'm taking you to Brisbane tomorrow... Eagle Farm!

Race 6 - Queensland Oaks (Group 1)
I select a 3 year old filly, she's "bread in the purple" and owned by Sheik Mohammed. I'll be surprised if she doesn't win.

Selection: PURPLE

Race 7 - QTC Cup (Group 2)
Gee... this is tough. I've consider three horses:
Ortensia - 3 year old filly. Needs to win to get into the Stradbroke.
El Cambio - 4 year old gelding. He's good... bloody good!
Swiss Ace - 4 year old entire. He's the track specialist but starts in barrier 18... that's a nightmare!

Selection: ORTENSIA (the one I'm leaning to, subject to track conditions.)

Race 8 - Dane Ripper Stakes (Group3)
A challenging race for punters but, at the end of the day, it's hard to go past a 5 year old mare trained by champion trainer, Gai Waterhouse. I reckon whatever beats her will win.

Selection: BELONG TO MANY

Now we just have to pray the weather doesn't go nasty and create unfavourable track conditions.

I won't say good luck... trust me, if conditions suit, you won't need it!

NH

I'll take your bait $100.00each straight up on all three.
Any winnings go to ACT for kids charity.
Any losses, reinforces my skepticism of sure things.

Will eagerly anticipate the outcome.

Good to see all you keen enthusiastic optimists are on the ball! You won't regret it!

I urge everyone else, don't let yourself down by not putting some dough on the nags I've recommended. And remember...

... WINNERS ARE GRINNERS!

Also remember, when it comes to punting, there is no truth in the saying... a fool and his money are soon parted!

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
WHAT HAPPENED AT THE RACES?

My apologies for being unable to get on here to warn you not to back Belong to Many (conditions quite simply were against her).

Congratulations to you guys if you followed my advice on yesterday's racing, though. If you did back all three tips, you should have still won for the day!

As for me, I left my bookies crying...

This is what I did:-

PURPLE - $10,000 @ 4/1 on the nose returned me $50,000

ORTENSIA - $10,000 @ 2/1 on the nose returned me $30,000

Two bets costing me $20,000... returned $80,000... that's a clear profit of $60,000.

Now that's what you call TAX FREE INCOME!

In the space of two races (that's 40 minutes), I made more money than most Australians make in a year!

So, can we do it all again next Saturday?

Well, I say "YES WE CAN"!

Wouldn't I just LOVE to be able to afford to bet an unemployed person's YEARLY income on ONE horse.

buy a gun, harvest your own meat, start digging a vegatable garden, harvest your own vegies, and get fit at the same time, save hundreds a week if you have a large family, become self suffient and more free, never worry about being microchipped again, LEAVE the cities and you will be ok

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
I really don't know what it would take to convince people I'm genuine and sincere here and I'm trying to simply help people make some extra money without having to work.

Looking at some people's negative attitudes, it does not surprise me why so many Aussies have become losers in life... enslaved to the rigours of the workplace instead of enjoying the pleasures of life.

Just read this topic from the start... then ask yourself this:

"Is new_horizens all spin and no substance, or is he all substance and no spin?"

I state my philosophy, I give top advice, I carefully select nags that will return people some tax free income... and it still amazes me to see the skeptics... always looking for an excuse not to have a punt, as though it justifies them remaining the biggest loser.

Well, I say to the skeptics, read my tips... 90% return you a profit. Stop being doubters. Start being believers.

Yes, I put my money where my mouth is... I have balls of steel. You need balls of steel to bet $10,000 in one go. But I'm not suggesting anyone else do this. People should just start with $10... then $20... then $50, $100, $1,000... and keep going as the money rolls in tax free, just like in my case.

I used to bet $10 a pop... over the years it's become $10,000 a pop. It can be done. I'm living proof.

So, please... don't be scared to punt on my tips. Don't remain a pessimist. Be an optimist. Don't find a way not to back my tips... just take courage and have faith that new_horizens will see you through getting some tax free income.

So just promise yourself this... next Saturday, I will tell you all what to back in the Stradbroke Handicap. Don't question. Don't doubt. Just back the nag and you too will enjoy some tax free income!

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
I had $100 on the first 2 didn't like the 3rd tip, easy money, took the missues out for dinner again, didn't tell how I funded the night but she had a great time. Nice dinner couple of whines then jumped over the road to the Casino, Missus had $5 on the choclate wheel and up came Jupiters at 47-1 so she was very happy.

Meanwhile I hit 4 of a kind on stud poker and the dealer drew AK so that was a 20-1 payout on my $5 bet and $10 anti which returned $300 that was my second hand, so I played 4 more hands lost $20 then bailed.

Was a good day.

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
I was discussing bookmakers the other day.

Someone was attempting to compare bookmakers to stockbrokers, and I said (even though I know nothing about bookmakers)......there's no comparison.

My stockbroker loves me, and welcomes me as a client.....because of the commission he makes on every trade......and, of course he's merely a go between.....a third party, and can't lose.

Increased buying activity drives up stock prices.....conversely, increased support for a particular horse drives down odds.

So your offer of successful tips, NH, is very generous.

Which brings me to the question of bookmakers.

I would imagine NH......you're bookmaker would have to be regularly changed.....surely they keep a record of someone who is winning too regularly.

Do you think there is collusion between bookmakers re too-successful punters?

Some gamblers finish up being banned.

Like a number of poker machine players who became too familiar with the functions of the old mechanical machines.

And I believe that some people are banned from Casinos.

Having said all that for no particular reason, I have a question for NH.

If I was to "have a punt" so to speak, following your tips.....you obviously avoid the TAB and are are not at the respective tracks .....are SP bookies legal these days.......so how do you select bookmakers?

Have you had the same very understanding one, all along?

For the record, I've never bet anywhere but the Stock Exchange.

If was to take your advice and have a punt on Saturday, how would you place your bets? How do you bet, online , go to the TAB ?
I am interested to see if this will work.

<<<Still not convinced to give up my day job, but got me thinking.>>>

It really should be a hobby.

I'll stick to blue chip stocks, and a little more day trading, when the market starts picking up early next year, in anticipation of the 2011/12 recovery.

Still, NH has volunteered information that has paid dividends, so it's worth a flutter....but as I'm sure NH would say, "don't put yor shirt on it".

There are numerous bookies in Australia... a wise man shops around.

For smaller fun bets, I do use the TAB from time to time... I have an account with each one. Only problem is if you ever plonk $10,000 on a horse with the TAB, you'll notice the price tumble big time. With a bookie you get the price on offer.

And yes, when at the tracks I may use the bookies on site. But to me, that is all irrelevant.

One must never lose site of the objective... getting a return on your money for the day.

A professional punter looks for a 12% to 15% return on an average day. I usually only bet on two or three nags... my return on an average Saturday is 250%.

Heck... with 300 to 400 horses going around on a Saturday, if you cannot find two or three nags to give you a return, then I say just stick to playing 'tiddly winks' and leave racing to the expert punters like me, and the mug gamblers who have no idea except how to lose money!

Well, I would say that place betting is the way to go for beginners. I do a lot of place betting.

The temptation is to waste money on trifectas and quadrellas etc etc etc... I avoid them.

I stick with win, each way or just place betting. Sometimes I'll do a double.

Look at it this way... in a field of 12 horses, you have a 1 in 12 chance of picking the winner, but you have a 1 in 4 chance of your horse being placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

If you then concentrate on the favoured horses, a 1 in 4 chance then reduces significantly... to almost a guaranteed place chance (which is what I do).

I will plonk money for a win when I'm pretty confident... like Purple and Ortensia on Saturday, like Apache Cat the other day... like Takeover Target in Sydney and Adelaide not too long ago.

Re:Increasing your tax free income Reply to this message
When you have a bet on the horses, the key to punting is bet within your means... keep a record of every cent you spend and every cent you win... constantly be aiming for a "slow but sure" return of about 10% to 20%.

One day, with experience, you will get to the top of the mountain, like me. I cannot describe that feeling I get, on a Saturday, knowing I am going to punt on two or three nags and bring home that evening anything between $20,000 and $100,000+... all from a great afternoons fun at the track! It's a great hobby!

Happy punting!
