I really dislike that sentiment.
The US "do as I say, not as I do, coz I have all the nukes" attitude doesn't impress me at all.
Neither do those same sentiments from any Australian citizen.
Maybe if the US cleaned up its foreign policies, the world wouldn't be perpetually on the brink of World War III.
Anyone who glorifies war, in my opinion, has rocks in their head.
NOBODY wins a nuclear war.
We should all be wanting diffusion, not escalation, of the US vs the rest of the world hostilities.

<The official 9/11 report says that the Muslim hijackers had taken flying lessons at an air school in ?Florida. The instructor said they were very poor students and very poor pilots>
the only truly hard part of flying is landing which as we know was never an issue.
get yourself a MS FlightSim, disable all the easy helps and fly a 747 yoruself. it is extremely accurate to the extent that the US navy used the program to help trian its pilots. flying a 747 into these buildings is hard but not that hard. they werent haveing dogflights or performing difficult manoevures plus they had had actual flight training.
it is not at all hard to beleive they did it. |

We're not talking about people with morals or ethics here.
The Americans are unapologetic about such atrocities. Their government doesn't care about people. It cares about its own agenda. Civilian casualties are considered "collateral damage". Who would even refer to the death of innocent bystanders as "collateral damage" if they had any moral fortitude.
I just don't think you can see the forest for the trees.
Anyway... this discussion is pointless and it's late. So I'll stop flogging a dead horse and go do something more productive..... like sleep. |

Yeah right. Just coz I can fly a simulator, I can execute aerial acrobats that a 747 isn't physically capable of performing and fly a jumbo, at ground level, into a given target.

I love the allegations of drug abuse, I am subject to random testing in my job so I cant even have a choof...
I also love statements like "I have read the evidence/proof/facts"... yeah, on wikipedia or something.
And ditto the elbow patch brigade- we should diffuse nuclear weapons... yeah maybe after Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Isreal, Iran, Egypt etc... They are actually a good deterrant, as evidenced by the kerfuffle about missile defense systems.
So change the water in your implement. |

it was a 767 and it did nothgin a 767 cant normally do. there were no acrobatics, just the kind of flying you wouldnt normally get on a domestic aircraft route.
try it yourself and set the simulator so that the aircraft WONT do what it cannot do in real life (eg acrobatics). it just aint as hard as you want to think it is. |

You're imagining things.
What planet do you live on refers to Planet Earth and the fact that we're destroying it and hell bent on blowing each other up. We're all Earthlings. It's time we acted like it.
My reference was meant to imply that you must live on another planet if you think you will be spared the repercussions of a nuclear war.
NOBODY wins.
The US has the strength and the ability to lead by example.
It isn't good enough to say "Oh well Russia or China or Pakistan are doing bad stuff too".
We are not responsible for anyone's behaviour but our own.
Unless our own behaviour is impeccable, we can NOT be telling other nations how to conduct themselves.

no, it's not easy but nor is it outstandingly hard. your father could do it EASILY. so could any half trained pilot. They were undoubtedly lucky to be so successful but scarcely improbable.
If I can do it on a simulator and had some real-life pilot training then I too could have given it a good shot. their chances were probably only 1 in 10 of hitting the building but they had a lucky day. |

That attitude really annoys me.
What is the alternative that you're proposing? We just live in constant conflict until the world is a nuclear waste dump?
It's because people don't look for another way that the world is in the mess it's in. Or hadn't you noticed?
You might like living under the constant shroud of fear and war and conflict and murder.
I don't.
If enough people could get over their egos and their need for this constant p!ssing competition that exists between people, the world might be a better and safer place for everyone.
But no... you all go on thinking in your war-mongering, us and them, believe all-question nothing manner and we'll just carry on with the sucky old status quo that we've got until someone feels the urge to press the red button and destroy us all permanently. Ok?
