the Telegraph has no right to publish stories of sensationalism on any photographs of nudity!!!
they aided and abetted the paedophiles who are traumaticising children for life by publishing every detail that lead the their capture..
one girl saved.....now the paeds know what not to do when they film the next 50!!!!
the Telegraph should be held to account for this blatant ignorance and the police if they handed over the details!

| It is a shame that people like yourself make way to much public Fuss about stuff like this , we have Eyes to see with, if you dont want to see dont look, cameras will never go away and papers will always sell what ever makes a Dollar , Trouble is you think everyone is a peadophile that dares to pick up a paper , Teach your Kids what is Right and Wrong and , Gay is Not OK ! and child Nude Photography is not OK ! THE NSW government will refer a magazine featuring a naked child on the cover to the Australian Classification board.
Art Monthly Australia magazine sparked fresh controversy over naked images of children by publishing an image of a six-year-old girl on its cover to protest against the recent furore over similar pictures by artist Bill Henson.
NSW police seized a number of Mr Henson's photographs featuring near-naked or naked children in recent months, but were returned to a Sydney art gallery without charges being laid.
The July edition of Art Monthly Australia published the cover image in protest at the "hysteria" over Mr Henson's work.
It also includes several provocative photos of children posing naked in adult jewellery as well as naked teenage girls.
NSW community services minister Kevin Greene said the images had been inappropriately hijacked for political mileage.
"I will refer this to the ACB tomorrow, and the community also should let (the Board) know what they think," Mr Greene told reporters in Sydney.
Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell labelled the publication a "provocative publicity stunt" and called for a review of Arts Council's funding for the magazine.
He said the average parent faced strict regulation of photographing their children at school events, and would be frustrated by the actions of the magazine.
"I understand they are in receipt of funding from the Arts Council and I assume there are procedures where that can be reviewed by Mr Rudd and his ministers," Mr O'Farrell said.
"I notice (Premier) Morris Iemma hasn't ruled them out receiving state government funds in the future.
"The public are furious about the double standards, I think taxpayers are angry when they see funds used in this way and to review it, I think, would be sensible."

The last time I looked, parents are guardians of their children until the age of 16yrs old, as we are told they are to young to think for themselves...
Since when is a photograph of a child in the nude art ??
It is a criminal act, I bet the child herself doesn't know what is going on around her.
So if something happen to the poor little girl, the parents have no-one to blame but themselves !!
They have laws for this type of stuff, like Mr Henson does he have children of his own, I dare say not or they would be hanging in that gallery with the other nude pictures.
If someone took nude pictures of children at the beach you would have that person charged.
Nude pictures of children is not art !!!
They have put that child in harms way now, how would the parents feel if they knew every pedophile has a copy of that photo hanging on their wall now ... Worried, I would be !!
The child didn't put herself there, the parents did !! |

| In regard to if Paedophillia is a criminal or mental illness. Has anyone considered that it is actually a sexual preference? This would explain why the re-offending rate is so high. I am a woman who sexually is only interested in men. No amount of therapy or incarceration could "cure me" and make me change that sexual preference to say being a lesbian. These people need to be stuck on an Island somewhere with no children available to abuse. Society is not helping either. Since when was it okay to have nude pictures of thirteen year and six year old girls out there. The age of consent in this country is 16. After that the girl/woman can decide if she wants to have sex or pose in the nude. Parents who allow other people to take nude photos of their children under this age are immoral and need closer scrutiny by the relevent authorities. |

would you let your child do that ?? I think not aquaman, them sort of pictures are for your own family walls, not the public places...Their are sick people out in the real world.... Or haven't you read the papers lately ?
We are her to protect our children not expose them to any form of harm.... Guardian means to protect !! |

That might be a child's body, but from a distance her head is womanly - she could almost be Agent 99 out of Get Smart...
Personally, I find the picture disturbing - and I have no doubt that a large number of men have already masturbated whilst oogling over it...
She reminds me of a 9 year old girl I know (daughter of a close friend), who prances and wiggles and tosses her hair around...almost totally oblivious to the vulnerable and beguiling messages she is sending out...
She is, however, very aware of preferring the most skimpy summer clothing - and her current idols are female wrestlers (whom she physically copies)...
Whilst out together shopping and at the movies, I have seen several men oogling at my friend's daughter and I have this nagging fear for her safety - because it only takes opportunity on top of motive for one sicko to change her life forever... |

| I don't have any problem with nudity. I don't even have a problem with young children getting around in the nude. When I was a kid at the beach it was quite common for kids of this age to be naked. I do question however the need to display child nudity. What does it actually prove? Is there any real social benefit in this kind of 'art'? To me it reeks of struggling 'artists' getting free publicity. I'd never heard of Bill Henson until recently. |

Aprilhud.... There's a 6 year old child in the nude sitting in front of that painting, the painting is behind a nude child, where is the art in the nude child ?
That sort of picture is for that famlilies own wall, not seen in public.
Do you think that little girl knows what is going on around her ?? Or is she being shielded from this ??
And you know what the answer is !!!
If the painting is so important, why isn't it in front of the child in the nude ,remember the word art, that is not Art it is called a portrait, there is a difference don't you think? |

Your comments are well founded; and as I said this is a child that has been exposed in a way that, I am sure, is alian to her; and the sad thing is that, as a child growing up in this environment, she will defend her parents, as after all her, parents are correct.
The poor child has been exposed sexually by a mother using her as a cash cow, and worse still she is still unaware of this abuse. |

A girl who posed nude as a six-year-old is defending the use of the photograph on the front cover of an arts magazine.
Now 11 years old, Olympia Nelson says she has no problems with the photo her mother, Melbourne photographer Polixeni Papapetrou, took of her when she was six.

Buzz, how many photographs are in Sydney art gallery or any council owned art galleries in any major city = NONE !!

All these photographs are all in private galleries, why ??

I can spot the difference, can you ???
If it's about the painting why can't we get a full picture view of the painting, because there is a naked child standing in front of it. The mother has taken a portrait in front of the artwork, then flogged it of in protest for Mr Henson. Wake up & smell the roses.
I have taught my 5yr old daughter that her body is her privacy & if anybody was to ever touch it, that she knows it's wrong, what is the parents teaching that little girl, that it is ok to ogle over her body..
That picture is something for their own family home, the artwork in the background is irrelevant in this discussion.
Would you sell pictures of your own child in the nude to people you don't know ???
