Because that's how it is in Indonesia. The cops are poorly paid and have to make their living out of bribes. You have to pay a bribe for everything... even the Corby-haters can admit that. Mercedes must have thought that the cops had planted drugs on Schapelle and were demanding a bribe. Either that or she thought a friend had dropped "crumbs" in the bag.
Mercedes showed up with only $120(AUD)... do you think that if she'd known Schapelle was bringing over 4.2kg of marijuana, she would have brought thousands. Druglords always have tons of cash on hand for these things, don't they? |

I can :) was self explanatory,
yes she said she knew how events go there, had heard of this happening before, but didn't have enough money. Very evident she WANTED the truth of their bribery swindles to be known. |

they were offered the lie detector tests paid for by the TV Chanel but conducted by a USA based operator who is used by the FBI and other agencies in America.
It was all on the news when this story first broke and before she even went to court,.
Your trying to turn it around to make it sound like a mirrors and smoke test does not alter the facts. |

Schapelle Corby's half-brother has denied he was the courier of the drugs she was found guilty of smuggling into Bali.
James Kisina, 20, was with Corby on October 8, 2004 when she was caught at Denpasar airport with 4.1 kg of marijuana. Malcolm McCauley, the South Australian man who says he supplied the drugs to Corby's late father, Mick, has alleged Kisina was the "carrier".

| I have a FANTASTIC idea...........put her brother, Mercedes and McCaulay in different rooms.attached to lie detectors and ask them an assortment of questions related to drug use,drug trafficking and the fathers role in it-watch the squiggly line go OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF the paper when Mercede and her brother are questioned and maybe Mercedes husband who has so far been VERY quiet could have a go too as he works in a surf shop and this is whee the drugs are allegedly distributed!! |

DETECTIVES have laughed off claims by convicted drug trafficker Malcolm McCauley that he supplied the drugs found in Schapelle Corby's boogie board bag.
And it has also emerged McCauley submitted paperwork to his local RSL Club stating he was a member of a World War II army battalion which disbanded one year after he was born.
The northern suburbs drug runner last week claimed he had sold the drugs discovered in Corby's bag to her father, Mick.
McCauley first hit the spotlight in 2005 when police discovered photographs of him visiting Corby in Bali's Kerobokan Prison.
At the time he said he had no connection with the Corby family and had visited Corby out of curiosity while holidaying in Bali.
Police involved in an operation that resulted in McCauley's arrest on drugs charges in Adelaide in 2005 have dismissed his claim he sold cannabis to Mick Corby.
When Adelaide detectives discovered the photographs of McCauley with Schapelle Corby, he was questioned about the images.
``He claimed he had no knowledge of the Corby situation at all,'' one officer, who declined to be identified, said.
``What he is saying now is quite laughable.''
The officer said the photographs sparked an extensive investigation to determine if there were any links between McCauley's smuggling syndicate and the Corby family.
``We have found no links, nothing at all, no evidence linking the two situations,'' the officer said.
``If he had any further information, it would have been advantageous for him to have told us at the time.
``There is every likelihood he could have used that as a bargaining chip and that would have been taken into account when he was sentenced. That did not take place and he did not even hint at any connection with the Corby clan.''
This week, a long-term member of the Salisbury RSL, where McCauley used to be a member, told the Sunday Mail he spoke to the drug traffic ... |
