Yesterday (Sunday 22/6/08) I heard with the deepest sadness the passing of Jane McGrath, she was an inspiration. My heart and thoughts go out to Glenn & the family at this time.
My family has also been touched by breast cancer with the passing of my cousin some 7yrs ago, and my oldest sister having a mastectomy for breast cancer.I too have had a tumor removed, and I sincerely hope that more young women and older women alike take the time to get checked out. Please dont think it wont ever happen to you. |

I donated a small ammount to the McGrath Foundation yesterday. I checked back today and over $100,000 dollars has been raised in about 24 hours. Quite amazing.
I suppose if anything can be gained from her death it is more awareness of the foundation they created. And from more awareness, more donations to help continue on the great work Jane started. |

Why do we have these criket/football "Legends" rammed down our throats?
If she wasnt a "legends" partner would anybody really care?

neither of them ever tried to pretend they were heroes, not by a long shot. they were very private people who used their public image to try and raise awareness of the disease. good for them.
even if you didn't follow cricket, all it would take would be to hear one single interview with this devoted couple to see where they were coming from. they were trying to get women to seek help earlier, so that so many wouldn't have to die. she could've been home feeling sorry for herself but she didn't. they say she rarely spoke about herself, it was all about making people aware. they were and still are a lovely family. but there will always be someone trying to knock others down. |

I also watched the "Enough Rope" interview and found Jane to be one of the most amazing spirits that God has seen fit to bless us with.
Glenn is a very fortunate man. He can truely say that he found his intended soul mate. Their love for each other was so alive, tangible and solid that it blazed.
My condolenses to him and their children and the respective families. The world is a lesser place after her passing but her strength, love sense of humour and courage will be a legacy that will live on. |

| I heard the news this morning, what a sad sad loss. My thoughts and condolences go out to the McGrath family. Jane has done so much with Breast Cancer and has really made people aware of the battle, I know all her good work will not go to waste. A soul that will be sadly missed.... |

She managed to remain positive, always smile and love life no matter what hardships life brought her. The McGrath's used there public profile to raise awareness and help others less fortunate. Once in everyime comes a person put on earth to be there for others. Glen in your case it was Jane. She was there for you and Holly & James to show her strength to you all as only she could knowing her time on earth was to be limted. You in return gave her Love, Strengh and encouragement when the time was rough. As you said she was your best friend. Anyone who has known Jane, or heard about her or especially those of us who saw her on Enough Rope will feel better people becasue of Her. She was inspirational to everyone. Holly & James were so lucky to have a mother like her and whilst it is sad for you and the children as a family God has given you some of the best memories that anyone could ever wish to have.
My thoughts at this sad time are with you all and may god bless you and let her light shine down on you for ever to be your guide.

| I would just like to say that this news has saddened me very much. I feel so sad for Glen as he has obviously lost his very best friend, the children have lost a wonderful mother, but they must be very glad to have meet and had this beautiful woman in there life. |

| sorry glen to hear about the passing of your wife yesterday. she as you are people we look up to. I thought it also a bit heartles for one of the channels to put an advert on featuring you and your wife advertising some fish product. they should have some sense on the death of a loved one and keep the adverts about fish till another day if any........ anyway she will be in heaven right now. god bless you. |
