If you allow this "Art" to go unchallenged, then any person with a photographic collection of young children can claim that their collection is purely "artistic"
If a law has been broken, then it should be prosecuted.
If for no other reason than to set precedent. |

The subject matter may be artistically questionable, morally debatable, 'controversial' or to some 'a minor titilation'
But an act of criminally producing and distributing child pornography as current law defines it ?

i dont check out naked or nude photos of children anywhere, I'm afraid i am not that way inclined, as for statues, they usually dont have that much in the way of detail and are usually not of a living or acutal person

Obviously you have not been to places of art like Italy and France and England to see the naked statues and the famous paintings... depicting naked adults and children.
Go into some of the most well known historical palaces in Britain... the rooms are graced with invaluable works of art depicting naked adults and children... all on public view.
Why have they not been confiscated by the police? Why is it that photos are different?
Australians... use some bloody common sense! Stop being so bloody stupid over an art exhibition. The perversion over this issue is in your dirty nasty thinking minds. What on earth would you be thinking if you were to visit a nudist beach anywhere in the world? |

| That may be so ... but that "conditioning" is a foundation of "community" or "society". Naturally it should be questioned but to suggest that our "natural state" is an "excuse" for behaviour that the "community" (whatever that means) doesn't approve is anarchistic when extended. Is it not photos or videos of underage girls and boys in sexually provocative poses designed to titillate or arouse?
The photos in this exhibition didnt do any of that. |

That can only happen when people have no discernment whatsoever... which, by the looks of it around here, might actually not be far off the mark.
I think it's pretty celar what constitutes pornography, and it takes more than a nipple. |

Just because he says it's art isn't determinative. Quite right.
But the fact that he is recognised as an artist and his work was being displayed in an art gallery would probably go a fair way towards the conclusion (which provides a defence under the NSW legislation) that his photographs have artistic merit, and are not therefore child pornography or indecent material. |

Would that not depend on the nature of the images, and the intent behind them? Not all nudes are sexual, regardless of where they are displayed.
If this guy took these shots to titillate and they were titillating, then fine, throw the book at him, but they don't seem titilating (IMO), and the method of their exhibition would indicate that the intent was not pornographic. |

wadejohn i think stated where a father who abused his 3 daughters was freed from any charges!!!!
this is frequent, child porn is well established...the court systems are biased towards the offender!!!!
