as you are entitled to do - and for that matter I am similar. But calling it pornography is a different matter. |

| The charges won't stand a chance of success. Go to Rome and see all the naked statues of adults and children... check out coffee table magazines that often show pictures of naked children in third world countries... check out the photos of naked underaged girls in those coffee table art/photography books in the common bookstores... check the same in books readily found in our city and town libraries and university libraries and bookshops. |

| i dont check out naked or nude photos of children anywhere, I'm afraid i am not that way inclined, as for statues, they usually dont have that much in the way of detail and are usually not of a living or acutal person |

I'd say it definitely is art.
Art isn't necessarily pleasant, and the fact that it may offend the sensibilities of people does not diminish its status as art.
What this particular outrage has made me curious about is how we, as a society, are conditioned to perceive nudity as sexuality. Why is this? If nothing, I believe that is a worthy debate in itself. |

| The person who took these photos, the people who exhibited these photos and all the people who support them are no better than paedophiles, it's not art it's kiddie porn. If the art community think that this is art then i feel sorry for their children. The parents of the children in these photos should also be charged for allowing this to happen. |

Why? Is not nudity our natural state? Clothes are just one of the masks we wear to hide our true selves.
Sure there are sickos out there, but since when did we let them dictate our lives? That gives them power over us.
It's conditioning that makes us think this way. |

This to me sounds like you assume nudity to be sexual, regardless.
I could be wrong.
It amazes em though how many people actually do feel that nudity is sexual at all times. I was bought up this way and i am thankful that I developed my own mind and realised that nudity is not dirty.
I am by no means a nudist - if I saw a naked guy walking down the street I would find it very weird, but I can appreciate the naked body as more than just being sexual, which I think in this day is harder than ever considering everything seems to be sexualised.
Oh, and the statues usually are based on real models... so you are looking a man's willy after all and not just a statue lol. Quick, cover your eyes. |
