Yes well I know why you can't. It's because my response was every bit as silly and facile as the post I was responding to. I was simply illustrating the over-simplification of using the principle of "democracy" to provide carte blanche to "expression". |

How are we to form opinion on what we don't know? how can one say it is child porn by simply associating the words naked and girl together.
WE DON'T KNOW. I find it rather interesting that so many people have their knickers in a knot over something they haven't actually seen.
For all we know, the pictures could be beautiful and innocent, or they could in fact be quite repulsive, but really it is all speculation and hot air. |

it'll turn you right off anything that encourage these rock spiders as a parent it will reduce you to tears and haunt you for the rest of your days. And please don't feel that in any of my comments i have meant to attack your role as a loving parent that is not my intention. |

Actually you could see the top half of the photos on Yahoo.au website before they changed the photo to police at the front of the gallery.
It showed a young looking preteen (in my eyes) fully naked with her face blurred out.
That's what got my "knickers in a knot" |

It might produce a more accurate reflection of australian attitudes than "feedback" polls on talkback radio ,or yahoo polls.
While you're at it , can you ask everyone if they think the majority is always right?

I dont need to read another book to know the damage caused by sexual predators but your very post unlines the problem I am repeating. AS soon as the words naked and girl are used together people bring out 'predator' and 'paedophile' etc. Thats a knee-jerk reaction - not considered thought. Do you really want a world where everyone is afraid to own a camera in case a child accidentally comes in frame? Do you want a world where advertisment for childrens clothes has to use text not drawings or pictures? One american moron A-G actually suggested that ALL photos of children be banned and possession of them be a criminal offence. THIS IS WAHT WE ARE FIGHTING. sometimes the battle lines are drawn in odd places. We, (ie thinking, non-hysterical people), dont want to fight that kind of legislation so we say NOW that such exhibits are not porn. It may not be to your taste (and it isnt to mine) but that's not the point. Freedom is removed by degrees and before you know it we wil end up in a situation like what I described. |

I have some point to make here. 1. The girl was 13 yr old not 18 not a bady either, the child was not leggaly able to make informed consent. Many people did see the picture and found it objectionable including a polition, which is why the photos were taken down.
I think nude photos of children who are in puberty is morally and ethically wrong. I have also known of paedephiles to become excited of pictures of young kids in underwear from catalogues as well.
I dont think the photos should have been put up |
