More Bullying on eugenics TV Reply to this message
The national fitness war against the weak had yet another shameful moment on TV.In a reality show, the purpose is to week by week unload the weakest link. On the show Australia's Next Top Model a young girl was viciously bullied by her co contestants for being "different". Aside from a caution, no disciplinary action was taken for the blatant psychological violence and the victim described "feeling all alone."

Reality based shows are based on the principle of n a z i eugenics, and promote survival of the fittest and war against the weak.

Australia's Top Model brats reprimanded for bullying

ASPIRING teenage model, Alamela Rowan, broke down in tears on Australia's Top Model TV reality show after being taunted by bullying rivals.
Australia's Next Top Model hopeful Alamela Rowan was left alone and weeping after weathering verbal taunts, being doused with a bowl of water and having a water bomb hurled at her.

Disturbing footage aired on Foxtel last night showed the results of the physical and mental abuse.

The cruel attacks, led by youngest contestant Demelza Reveley, 16, who ironically was the victim of playground bullying in the past, left Rowan, 17, depressed and alone.

"It got to a point where it was a place I didn't want to be and I started getting really down," the Byron Bay beauty told The Daily Telegraph yesterday.

The attacks were so bad that host Jodhi Meares and judges Charlotte Dawson and Alex Perry reprimanded the other contestants but no further action or punishment was taken.

Struggling to cope with the pressure of studying for her higher school certificate as well as the competition, Rowan said that although producers spoke to her briefly off-camera, she still felt alone.

"There was no one in there to discipline the girls because we are expected to live on our own in a professional situation, which clearly wasn't happening, and there wasn't anyone we could go to," she said.

"I had to just take it."

Reveley defended the hostile scenes, saying Rowan was targeted because the group was bored and she was different.

"She was very different from a lot of the girls in the house and separated herself very early on. I guess we didn't understand her. There was a barrier," she said.

In the show, 13 hopefuls live under one roof and try to become the next top model.

Psychologist and bullying expert Evelyn Field said the behaviour of Reveley and her "brat pack" was a despicable attack on a shy girl and was possibly caused by jealousy.

Granada, which produces the show, said: "The girls involved were severely reprimanded. Alamela was spoken to, to ensure she was coping."

BTW, I agree with you, Nessa, re: Mariah's likeness to those beasts of burden whose natural habitat is mangroves. Something about that wierd little nose.

Re:More Bullying on eugenics TV Reply to this message
EUGENICS CAN BE A GOOD THING.

DEPENDS WHAT CRITERIA YOU USE.

HITLER USED IRRELEVANT CRITERIA.

YOU CAN BE TALL AND BLOND AND STILL BE SICK AND STUPID.

JAMES D. WATSON: "IF WE DON'T GET OVER OUR EUGENICS TRAUMAS, WE'LL BE PAYING OUR DUES TO HITLER TWICE."

bill_crammy: there is no competition gene

How do you know?
Are you a geneticist?
I bet there is, in fact I should say "there are", because complex activities like behaviour are always controlled by several genes.
Why do you think all primate societies, human included, are and have always been hierarchical?

Re:More Bullying on eugenics TV Reply to this message
human eugenics has nothing to do with science - its a bunch of corporations in the past century and a bit under the philanthropy movement who have been and still are convinced they can create a superior human through selective social manipulation. All modern corporate and free market philosophy proceeds from this metaphysical belief but it is more akin to religion than anything relating to science - the artificial selection of desired and undesirable traits to favor or not favor has absolutely no basis in reason - especially in justice and law and this has nothing remotely to do with competition either.

Re:More Bullying on eugenics TV Reply to this message
American slave owners practised eugenics 200 years ago. Afro-americans weren't naturally that big and fast. There was a selective breeding program to build a better worker.

Re:More Bullying on eugenics TV Reply to this message
FROM WIKIPAEDIA:

In 1989, Watson's achievement and success led to his appointment as the Head of the Human Genome Project at the National Institutes of Health, a position he held until April 10, 1992.[25] Watson left the Genome Project after conflicts with the new NIH Director, Bernadine Healy.

Watson was opposed to Healy's attempts to acquire patents on gene sequences, and any ownership of the "laws of nature." Two years before stepping down from the Genome Project, he had stated his opinion on this long and ongoing controversy which he saw as an illogical barrier to research; he said:

"The nations of the world must see that the human genome belongs to the world's people, as opposed to its nations." He left within weeks of the 1992 announcement that the NIH would be applying for patents on brain-specific cDNAs.[26] In 1994, Watson became President of CSHL. Francis Collins took over the role as Director of the Human Genome Project.

He became the second person [27] to publish his fully sequenced genome online, after it was presented to him on May 31, 2007 by 454 Life Sciences Corporation in collaboration with scientists at the Human Genome Sequencing Center, Baylor College of Medicine.

"'I am putting my genome sequence on line to encourage the development of an era of personalized medicine, in which information contained in our genomes can be used to identify and prevent disease and to create individualized medical therapies,' said CSHL Chancellor Watson."[28]
