The Olympic Games is supposed to be non-political as is the association of all to do with it, ie; the TORCH Relay.
now all these inept, dull and flat-headed protesters are really highlighting their incompetence.
CHINA is going to stage a great Games and all those who compete are not supporting China by their participation but doing what they have trained for and lived for. they are here to compete and the protesters of the OLYMPICS in BEIJING are wrong and unduly putting pressure where pressure aint due.
But WAIT there is something you can do...

Go to your wardrobe and in your Kitchen and discard all things that have 'MADE IN CHINA" on it.burn it destroy it then go out and buy replacements. then try and feed your family with what you have left....
remember when purchasing anything make sure it aint Chinese exported stuff.
why demand sacrifice when you aint willing to bear it? |

And while all of you are bleating about China and Tibet, will you all sound off in 2012 that England should return Northern Ireland to the Irish, Scotland tp the Scottish and Wales to the Welsh, of course not. Next time the Olympics are held in America shouldn't we all start saying "give America back to the Red Indians!" Give New Zealand back to the Maories, Give Australia back to the Aboriginals. Give us a break.... Tibet had been part of China for centuries until the British over ran it and then China annexed it BACK in the 1950's. Anyone threatening to boycott the opening of the games should be prevented for participating at all. They say they want to make a statement, then make the statement and STAY AWAY.
Tibets economy would crumble without Chinas support. China does its best to help each of the autonimous regions of China. They have not long completed the highest railway in the world that has opened Tibet up to alot more tourists which in turn will benefit the economy of the region. The Tibetans couldn't have afforded to do it on their own. |

Just because you don't know anything about it, don't assume everyone else is ignorant too!
Personally, I've just written a brief article about the history of chinese ocupation in Tibet and it's consequences in the lead up to the Olympics, so I'm comfortable that I'm up to speed. |

China is currently engaged in a deliberate campaign to destroy the Tibetan culture, which they see as subversive to their rule.
6000 buddhist monastaries and temples have been destroyed, as well as sacred texts and artefacts. Chinese is being taught as the first language and Tibetan buddhist history is heavily censored. Traditional Tibetan homes are demolished in favour of chinese constructions.
Chinese workers are given incentive to move to Tibet, including an exemption from their one child policy. Monks and Nuns are pressured to denounce the Dalai lama and open support of the Dalai Lama may result in arrest.
There are currently about 150 political prisoners in Tibet, most of which are moks and nuns.
It is cultural genocide - a deliberate campaign to remove Tibetan influences and effectively erase thousands of years of culture and history. |

Tibet isn't a small teritory. It accounts for about a quarter of China's land mass. |

It's a phenominan.
The ideal of the Olympic is tarnished.
From it's inception, the Olympic was inteded to promote peace.
Massacre in Tibet and Xinjian.
Hu Jintao who killed and still killing tons of Tibetans ans Muslims are holding the torch.

Please dont say something you have no idea at all.
what you have stated here is so wrong, and i bet you dont know there are lots of special benefits given out to People in Tibet, like they donot need to follow the one-child policy, they get extra marks in university entry exam, they do not need to pay as much tax as other Chinese do.
so shut up till you have been there! |

Well, maybe you can tell us what is really going on in Tibet at present, since the Cinese govt. has slammed the doors on any reporting, chucked out the journalists, resumed throwing "splittists" into the torture cells, etc.
Don't forget: when matters are suddenly covered up in a crisis, the general public will draw thei own conclusions, in the absence of legitimate reports.

like all indigenous groups, they squeak when stuck, never thankful for the transition, turn to violence, cry to the bleeding hearts peoples of the world (who generally have no idea) and are nevr thankful for what they have.......... left.
