Analog and Channel 7two Reply to this message
My TV is four years old. How can I tell if it is an analog or not? Live in Brisbane. Tried to tune in to channel 72, but nothing coming through. I have foxtel, but you cannot even get normal seven with that. I watch 7 through the TV. Has anyone in Brisbane successfully gotten this new channel?

Do a google search with the brand, screen size (diagnal - in inches) model number, etc

This will bring up technical specs

At that age, it SHOULD be digital

I'm in Perth and have a digital TV but had problems with 7Two I get the 7Two picture and 7 sound!

Is your TV LCD, Plasma or CRT. If CRT then its analogue. Not all the others were digital either. Do you get 99 (Go), 22 (ABC2) or any of the other free digital channels?

when you go to tune your tv in it will have dtv or it states in "setup" Digital STB tuner it will also say "analog" or digital tuner in setup as well.

most 4 year old tvs would be LCD or plasma and if yours is one of these it would be "digital ready" meaning you will need a topset box to receive a digital ch. again if your tv manual states that it is a analog tuner it is not digital and to watch full HDTV you need a resolution of 1920x1080 which i say 4 year old tvs are not yours would be 1366x768p which is fine for SDTV + you need a HDMI output on your tv to enjoy true HDTV.
