| vista lost the day it was released companies hated the new OS hardly any programs would run properly and most went back to xp, window7 is an improvement over vista but breaking it down it is similarly built on vista. sorry Microsoft but back to the drawing board and try improving xp as a base from to work on!!! |

Perhaps the reason you blokes like XP is because you use so much of your computer's capacity. In my case I know very little about my computer, most of the keys around the edges are still Dutch to me, and I can only do very basis tasks. For me Vista takes care of all my needs, and I constantly make mistakes and will press the wrong key, and all new stuff appears, which I know nothing about.
I have only ever had Vista, except for a month recently with XP on another computer. I found the printing (here) poor quality compared to Vista. |

No such animal, v6.22 was the last (and BEST) Microsoft DOS. Stay away from v4.0 and v6.21, bad news. |

i would disagree with you there mate win7 was built around vista still has a lot of problems with programs as does vista the best thing microsoft could done is build win7 around xp, would have turned out to be a winner. the reviews on win7 are not promising!!! |

What a dumb comment! I certainly have enough experience with various OSs to be qualified to state my perference.
Which I have. |

Well id have to disagree with that.
Ive been using Vista now for a while and yes vista started out badly until the first major update, which was expected, XP was the same when it came out.
Ive never had a blue screen with vista (these are mostly caused by a hardware issue anyway) when they were common and still are in XP.
I use vista for programming enterprise sized software plus i use it for recording audio (once only for the domain of Mac)
Vista is not as bad as some make it out to be, it just comes down to how you use it.
90% of the time, computer viruses on PC end up on the systems causing issues in one or two ways
1) user runs some stupid powerpoint or email attachment and gets infected.
OR
They browse lots of porn sites.
Every time i have to fix someones pc, usually a porn activex control is found or they ran some stupid screen saver they downloaded or clicked on that link "Your computer is infected"
It shows one thing only, the computer experience is only ruined by persons stupidity. |

You've noticed that, too?
And isn't it funny how so many of them run no protection at all?
Makes you wonder. |
