I have a smashed lap top which I would like to repair. The laptop exterior was smashed onto a concrete footpath (few keys missing, the screen separated from the backing) when a violent friend found some of my personal poetry. What is the practicality of having the insides (hard drive)placed in a new lap top? Or is this a waste of time?
What are the chances of the hardware still being ok after being thrown destructively against a concrete footpath?
Is the hard drive in a lap-top like a black box in an aircraft?
Any chances of recovery, and if so, what's the best way to go about it? |

| I will just add the incident was reported to the police, and the individual is required to pay for damages. |

Get a new laptop. You could always try to hunt down a USB hard drive adapter - try and recover your data that way ..... but Id guess you might be out of luck.
Must have been some poem ..... Or was your friend just too harsh a critic :) |
