Banks and skimmers Reply to this message
We hear every day that customers are being scammed of millions of dollars every year, so why don't the banks get together and employ finger print scanners, or iris scanners, we have the technology so why not use it. In the end the cost of implementation would be returned by the banks not having to repay monies stolen.

Re:Banks and skimmers Reply to this message
another stupid comment...

now, if i place wafer scanner on front of the inlet - there is no security which will prevent that... regardless of precautions!

and what will prevent person with criminal intent to "borrow" your eye or pinky?....

in oz alone there is close to 33,000 atm machines and close to 250,000 pos machines... from all of that, according to police comissioner - 188 machines were "compromised", total loss of money is on that scheme about $11,000,000.00 eleven million january till october....

now, on transaction fees banks in oz make $70,000,000.00 seventy million a day... who is the f00kin' thief?!?

1 in 20 transactions have too high fee attached to it... 1 in 100 transactions over the counter is actually fraud perpetrated by shop owner or operator...

yet, what makes half page headlines?!?

dear panic merchants and morons - do not look at smokescreen but what is behind it!

Re:Banks and skimmers Reply to this message
vampy222003 - dear moron, what i cited are official statistics from police comissioner report (as published in many papers in last few days) and i just re-calculated them.

data pertaining to number of atm's and pos machines as well as value of daily fee is taken from banking ombudsman and choice magazine sites.

have your head examined dear moron and panic merchant...
feel free check any paper and have have good look at numbers...

Re:Banks and skimmers Reply to this message
Bull as I said get a brain and go somewhere else to insult people, Look at my post I did not mention specificaly atm,s, you did, my post was in general to the banking system inside and out of banks and ATM's, also for them to supply customers with home fingerprint readers to alleviate the amount of scamming that goes on, and if you would put that pea brain to work you will also notice I said scamming not skimming.

So here is a tip, go back to school and try the course reading 101 again. This will enable you to actually read a comment correctly, before you put that big mouth into gear and that small brain into neutral.

Kind Regards
And have a good week

Re:Banks and skimmers Reply to this message
Whilst ATM users should certainly open their eyes occasionally, I venture to say that if the banks were at risk of losing money then they might be inclined to take an interest, however as long as they can pass the buck they don't care about customers.

Re:Banks and skimmers Reply to this message
rubbish! they spends heaps on fraud protection, as do the ATM providers, just because you might be ignorant of the measures taken, doesn't mean it doesn't happen
