Website aims to help the undecided voter
Voters unsure of which party to choose at the upcoming federal election, might find the answer they are looking for with the launch of the Vote-a-matic online tool.
Launched by news.com.au, the Vote-a-matic tool presents a number of multiple choice questions on environment, security, communication, work, health, education, leadership, economy and family.
It then assesses your answers against the policy platforms of Australia's major political parties to determine which one is your best match.
You then receive a video messages from the leader of that party.
News.com.au editor David Higgins said the Vote-a-matic was targeted at young Australians, in particular those voting for the first time.
"Our objective with our election coverage and Vote-a-matic tool is to get people thinking, in particular younger people, about the upcoming election and engage with them in a way that no media has done before, Mr Higgins said.
Vote-a-matic can be accessed at www.news.com.au/youdecide 2007. |

| Who knows it might eventually replace the current voting system. It sure would help the politicians understand why people voted for them. |
