Re:The Death of Respect Reply to this message
That is very true, but look at those who are responsible - mostly left wingers.

========================= =====

Mostly?
I would say exclusively!

Re:The Death of Respect Reply to this message
I don't think it si fair to claim it is exclussively left wingers that are causing decadence in western societies. The decline in morals is evident amongst members of the finacial community as well. Infact all professions are displaying decadent behaviour. Money has replaced professional ethics as the guide to professional conduct.

Let's take biology study at uni these days. Once students were working to further the field of human knowledge, driven by curiousity. Today students learn to keep a log of their work so their have the evidence needed in court to support their claim to intellectual property rights to any discoveries they make. No sh!t, it was the first thing we were taught.

So that is not the left's fault directly. It is Amercian neo-liberal, Harvard business model corperatism driving that particular decline in morals.

But certainly, neo-Marxist teachers and acedemics have done their bit to mess things up.

Yer, I'd go the revoler too, for self defense. Revolvers are handy in tight spaces and won't jam. But I don't know if a .357 is good enough. A .44 magnum will make sure the target stays down.

you guys make me laugh... each and everyone of you are pointing your fingers... it doesnt really matter who, what, where or when... we have lost the plot..to blame any one time or country or era is not the way... the way is to find our way back..who has the answer.. maybe one of us on here..I dont know, but I know this constant harping on finger pointing never solved anything.

I play a big part in my grandchildrens lives and I tell them all the time about the 3 Rs.. respect responsiblity. remorse..I expect good manners..I expect kisses and hugs..I tell them all the time I love them to bits..its not much but its a start...

lets go back to stopping and looking each way before crossing the street level crossing or no level crossing... we have to respect the car, they have to be mindful of pedestrians.. let pedestrians be mindful of vehicals..its only a small thing.. but I get pretty angry when people young and old just step out in front of me without even a glance... its wrong its rude its disrespectful vandals get away with murder.they should be locked up. they should be find, they should be made to clean it up.. whether its theirs or someone elses.. we are now talking about Seax education in schools.. primary.. well I have news for you... good manners would go down better with me..so far as I can see sex education that has been on the agenda for years.. has just said the preverbial.....free go and STD and abortion are as big as ever they were.

Re:The Death of Respect Reply to this message
regardless of what you think of Howard.

was what he said in anyway wrong??

Nope he hitthe nail on the head and Rudd has a mighty headache.

The tide has turned and it will flow faster and faster, he is finished unless he comes up with some answers, which we know he hasn't got.

Lack of respect comes from the parents...just look at the way some of the people on these boards speak about third world migrants and aboriginals...and we wonder why their kids are as f@cked as they are...their attitude is bread into them!!!

Re:The Death of Respect Reply to this message
Your right codswal. Decadence is a process bigger than any person or indeed group of people. It sets in when the potentials of the ideas that drive a civilization are realised and progress is exhausted. I suppose it could be seen as a natural process similar to aging.

How convenient!

LOL...some think we should be blaming the parents (of lefties)...

How judgmental!

I'm sure it's a lot more complicated than that...

How true!?

Re:The Death of Respect Reply to this message
That said, if there is any one group I would hold responsible, it would be our Western forefathers - the global powermongers of the last 100-odd years...

Instead of promoting 'human values', they have been incessantly bombarding us, from every concievable angle and orifice, with anti-social 'economic aspirations'...

Wanton materialism, selfish competition, dehumanising exploitation, social polarisation, sexual objectification and perpetual inadequacy are NOT good foundations for building a safe, secure and harmonious civilisation...

Should we REALLY be surprised!?

Re:The Death of Respect Reply to this message
Seriously, Gens X and Y are probably the most emotionally and financially insecure generations of the past couple of centuries!

This is largely due to the 24/7 media-driven lessons in materialism of their recklessly profiteering and destructive fathers, grandfathers and greatgrandfathers who worshipped the "Growth Fairy"...

Irrelevant!
You said Howard took away our weapons, I merely illustrate he did not, he simply stopped idiots like you getting hold of them.
