Spash says he received a letter outlining a list of trivial instances in which he was accused of breaching CSIRO policy, giving as an example a claim he had not completed a leave form properly.
*We are scientists who are supposed to be discussing research in an open forum,* he told The Australian. *I am totally happy to have my work criticised and debated, but I*m not happy to have it suppressed.*
The credibility of the CSIRO, which once enjoyed a fine international reputation for its research, has been dealt a body blow by the Rudd government.
It is fascinating to observe Rudd descend into the politics of fear and smear as he attempts to bully his ill considered new tax bill through Parliament so he and his hapless Climate Change Minister, Senator Penny
Wong, will have something to take to Copenhagen in four weeks.
This is his moment of truth, and he chooses to deny science and silence those who speak out.
Rudd is, as News International chairman Rupert Murdoch has recognised, delusional. He is kidding himself, as Murdoch observed in an interview with The Weekend Australian yesterday.
He is dedicated to putting up the cost of everything, when no other nation is doing so, in a useless bid to garner world attention and feed his overwhelming vanity.
He is gambling with a hand that holds just one card: terror.
He hopes he, the extremist Left and the darkest Greens can terrify us into supporting a tax that will kill the economic future for generations of Australians.
The next month will be critical for this nation, if Rudd*s bizarre address is any indication of his phobic approach to policy.
He has resorted to an appeal for mass hysteria and must be ignored in the name of common sense.

Well the outcome according to Laurie Oaks is Rudd hasn't a clue how to deal with his sudden problems on all fronts.
And he resembles a a headless chook running around in circles.
And dramitic polls showing Labor down seven points and an 18 point two-party preffered lead slashed to just four has shocked Rudd.
Rudd in the eyes of the public has been made to look weak and indecisive. |

The tough but humane thing to do with these sri lankans hijacking queue-jumpers is for Emperor K'rudd to get Oceanic Viking to within sight of Indo port or Indo fishing village, and boot them off onto dinghies with enough water and snacks for these manipulative economic opportunists to row themselves back to Indo land where they sailed from but where as far as we know is neither at war nor a torturing regime. I have no sympathy for boat-peoples who leapfrog numerous safe asian nations after Sri Lanka/Pakistan etc but scream asylum-seeking out of safety for last leg to get into lucrative K'rudd 's Oz here.
Maybe if K'rudd pulls his finger out and DO something, less BOO$$heit will spew out the other end. How much is K'rudd boat fiasco costing taxpayers for each day he stufffs around? |

AFTER WATCHING THE MORNING ROUND OF TV news....
I think that Murdoch's onslaught on Rudd is evaporating.....
Sure THE LIBERALS have a full hour on 4Corners, tomorrow night but that will be critical of the Libs, no doubt!
There are Coal ads coming out next week.......coal jobs yes, but for the inner City intelligencia the notion of Coal companies advertising will be an anathama.
Barnaby Joyce on Oakes........a bit scripted, a bit awkward.......he obviously gets nervous.
What else,oh, they are saying Rudd may have come out on Friday and produced that enormous spray of invective against sceptics because there was a Nielson poll being conducted on Friday, and a couple of days earlier last week.
The 14 appearances on programs, radio and TV MAY HAVE ALSO BEEN GEARED TOWARD THE NIELSON POLL.
IT comes out tomorrow or Tuesday....
Insiders: also said News poll was only 3 days of polling, may have been biased against Rudd because they don't like him.
Whatelse: Rudd's invective might mean deal off with Liberals as it costs too much, re:CPRS.
SOMEONE said Rudd is confidant if the negotiations fail that he can still take the majority with him, his 67% or whatever.....
On Insiders they did not seem to think Rudd was rattled.......they thought everything was formulaic, worked out to the last syllable......not falling apart but crafted for the Nielsen poll!!
One last thing Karen Middleton mentioned that the one person Rudd did not attack in the Friday speech was Alan Jones, who as she said has been running hard on the sceptic issue.
Interesting!!! He's not Murdoch press???
