So, it turns out Alex has a criminal record. Furthermore, he knows he can't get into either Europe of America.

Yet European and Amercian newspapers are critising us for not accepting someone whom they would not accept. Go figure....

Howards tough border protection policy worked. and the results when you look back prove it.

If liberty and equality, as is thought by some are chiefly to be found in democracy, they will be best attained when all persons alike share in the government to the utmost.
Aristotle (384 BC - 322 BC), Politics

MPs from Howards party were going to cross the floor and vote against his border protection policies...the coalition are using the plight of these people to once again drive a wedge through Australian society!!!

The Pacific solution "DID NOT" work...it was rejected by the Liberal party and it's sole purpose and function was to continue persecuting and punishing genuine refugees to try and deter other asylum seekers from coming to Australia to protect themselves and their families...Australia should not be proud of the way we treat desperate people...nothing is gained by this disgusting treatment of refugees accept to show a complete lack of compassion and understnding...Australia has nothing to be proud of in the way it treats minorities...we should be ashamed of ourselves!!!

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

David Marr sumed it up beautifully on the Sunday Insiders show with statistics from which Australia has had coming in boats in the last 33 years equavilent to a YEAR in Europe of England.

We , the people, and media are to blame as we focus on the the easy targets , which are the people arriving in boats when arrival by air is a bigger concern..
I can not believe how people fall for this. Maybe its a way of God testing !

Attention philperth and vegemite.

Alex has been identified as:

1/ people smuggler

2/ convicted criminal charged with threatening murder

3/ his brother is wanted by Canadian authorities

4/ he admits he cannot enter Europe or America

And now he looks like resorting to piracy by seizing an Australian vessel. So, he is a people smuggling criminal and a priate. He is NOT, I repeat NOT, a sweet innocent refugee.

Somebody tell be why the Tamils would prefer to come over 1000km to Australia in leaky boats rather than the 20km to their home land in Tamil Nadu in southern India.

Yes. It is very simple really.

The Tamil tigers want to rebuild so to renew the civil war at some point if future. There are lots of funds to be found in Australia and the security is quite lax. Also there is an established Tamil Tiger support network here.

A great base to retreat to.

One would think that the Australia Intelligence (I shudder to say that) Agencies would know this. One could either be led to believe that they are incompetent or are supporting this venture.
What is the big Picture?

International condemnation of Australia once again. Wow! Shaking in my boots. Who are they? Flatfooted tree huggers? Greedy and corrupt UN officials or inept European political leaders? Don't give a shit for any of that socalled condemnation. Same ones who are members of Greenpeace and other such organisations. Same mob, just wearing different hats.

Re:International Condemnation for Austra ... Reply to this message
Displacing people from their own nations is no way to solve these problems they run from.
These people need to be sent back to their home land too help make it a better place, they could be 'being part of the solution'
Immigration has been a failing 'United Nations' policy for so long. "I know the old saying [if its broke don't fix it]". BUT THIS SYSTEM IS BROKE AND NEEDS FIXING. Grow some balls Rudd Stand up to the 'UN', put the blame back on them. Rudd thinks his the king of spin. Let see him test it. After all he has the media up his bum. If Rudd don't make a stand against the UN policy of Displacement then he clearly has no NUTS.

Maybe we need to all tip in to get the 'Nancy boy Rudd' a skirt each from everyone in this country, that would surly send Rudd a message.
