I heard Tony Abbott recently say that the sea level along the NSW coast was supposed to have risen about 20cm in the last century.
He also made a comment like: Has anyone noticed the difference?
I read today that the mean sea level in Venice(where you would notice the difference) has risen 3" (7.5cm) since 1897.
Can someone please explain? |

This century, the rate jumped even further. Tide-gauge records indicate that sea level at Venice has risen 25 cm, driven in part by the water extraction and the global sea level rise spurred by increasing worldwide temperatures.

I thought with Venice it was more about subsidence.....not so much water level rise......
I think they have implemented measures to stop subsidence that have made the issue worse???
This is just totally off the top of my head......so take it or leave it!!!
