I never tweet alone, Turnbull confesses
Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull has told an audience of social media professionals that he doesn't send all his tweets himself.
Mr Turnbull, in an interview with Fran Kelly at the Media 140 conference in Sydney, said he had someone helping him with tweets, but would not elaborate on the ratio between tweets sent by himself and tweets sent by staff.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd distinguishes between tweets sent by himself and those by staff, but Mr Turnbull said he felt there was no ethical problem to his approach.
He says the key is that he takes responsibility for tweets made in his name.

His comments come as Prime Minister Kevin Rudd offered to attend the United Nation's climate summit in Copenhagen in December.
At this stage, Australia will be represented by Climate Change Minister Penny Wong, but the Prime Minister may join US President Barack Obama on the sidelines as a new global pact is signed off.
"I've said to the Danish prime minister I'm prepared to travel to Copenhagen, I'm happy to travel to Copenhagen,'' Mr Rudd told ABC Radio on Thursday.
But a decision would depend on whether Mr Rasmussen thought it "productive, positive and useful'' for heads of government to attend.
Mr Rudd and other leaders already have taken part in video-conferences with Mr Rasmussen, working through a "complex set of negotiations''.
"We need to see progress at Copenhagen,'' he said. |
