The 10 Pound Pom scheme to boost the post-war population of Australian is set to return next month is a bid to encourage hundreds of young Britons to visit and work in Australia.
On August the 5th one way 10 pound tickets from selected brances of STA travel in London and Southhampton will be given to people applying for a working holiday visa in Australia.
Tourism Australia's General Manager Rodnet Harrex said the 10 pound ticket would arouse awareness of theworking holday visa programm.
The original 10 pound assisted passage scheme resulted ia an influx of British migrants that so helped Australia grow and today more than 35,000 young British visit Australia on a holiday programm every year.
The visa offered the opportunity for travel all over Australia for the British youth to supplement their income with employment in a country so aligned with the British Heritage |
