The Victorian division of the Liberal Party has sacked two staff members for posting disparaging comments about the party on the internet.
Simon Morgan and John Osborn were sacked when it was discovered they had been active contributors to a blog aimed at undermining leader Ted Baillieu, a number of state and federal parliamentarians and other party members.
In a joint statement from state president Dr David Kemp and state director Julian Sheezel, the party said the pair had "been involved in acts of gross misconduct prejudicial to the party".
The statement said both Mr Morgan and Mr Osborn, who were employed in the party's campaign unit, had admitted to contributing to the blog when interviewed by Dr Kemp and Mr Sheezel.
"The use of blog sites by party members or staff with the specific intention of publicly undermining the party's leader ... and other party members is conduct which is gravely detrimental, ... and will not be tolerated under any circumstance," Dr Kemp said.

Maybe they didn't like a few home truths told, if they're like QLD LIb's they've got their heads stuck in the sand and going nowhere.
We're now going to have the Lib's only in QLD, no coalition, it will be called the Liberal Party, goodbye Nationals --- How smart is that. Nelson's now asking them to hold off until they merge at the Federal level????????? |

In all honesty I'd have sacked them too.
Staff members, so I assume they were being paid by the party. Any person of principle would have resigned before sinking the boot in - not just kept taking the pay packet while undermining their employer.
But hey, they are libs...... |

There is only one excuse for rebelling against your leader, success. |

It is interesting to note that with all the problems with the Labor Party, the highest office that the Liberal Party can win in Australia is Lord Mayor of a city.
Not one Liberal can accept that in the face of such an enormous electoral advantage such poor performance can only indicate to any reasoning person that there must be something fundamentally wrong with the message the party is sending. |
