Yes that was the previous prime minister-reckon the
new one deserves a "fair-go" even though my primary
vote did not go to him. |

Perceptions & reality? Tend to favour the latter. |

Now, even YOU don't believe what you said there, McLaren. Beazley and Crean? Pah, what twaddle.
In fact, I wonder how MUCH of what you write, you believe. Can someone of obviously fair intelligence carry on, as you do, with such contrary nonsense for so very long, and remain anchored to reality, or just be clinging to a belief that was long ago shown to be false?
And how galling it must be for you that your Laborite-smiting demigod, Howard, has proven himself, clearly and shamelessly, to be and utterly gutless little man. Imagine losing an election and being so riddled with hubris as to then refuse to show your nose above the parapet, even once. Utterly devoid of anything we would hope to call 'Australian'. There's Don Bradman for you. Just shameful.
But you go on believing - whatever it is you believe; i doubt you could even out it into words anymore, you've been waffling on for so very, very long. |

podd
the title of the thread says
"The Habitual Liar 1996-2007"
Both Beazley and Crean were in parliament between that time frame
so what's your point?

Howard introduced a new expression into government politics, core and non core promises.
non core being those he chose not to keep.

No. It's so he can sit all nice and cosy in Bush's bunker while the Yanks nuke Australia and try to blame it on China. |

pod do you ever read back your twaddle...what would you have had Howard say if he had shown his nose above the parapet....you call him gutless and then you slam him when he defends his policies...we know whatever this man does will never be right. so why dont you stop bleating about him.
Tell us about Crudd, us Libs want to hear all about Crudd,
dont waffle tell us all the wonderful job hes doing.do you think you can do it without mentioning the Howard years? no didnt think so...not much to say thats good really so far is there.
Do you remember Keating when ever he wanted to get out of the kitchen he mentioned the Republic, well thats how the threads look when all you do is lambast Howard. and say nothing about the Crudd. |

probably along with he caring Crudd...
he who cares sooooooooooooo much is now taking the carers allowance away from them....just like that....but he cares he really does......it always interests me when ever they talk about saving money...they never go for the Politicans allowance... or the exPM freebees..
why is that do you think?
the carers of this country would have to be the most vulnerable group ever. and to do this is despicable. what do you think Mr wogboy or are you in favour of this???
Do you think they will get a sorry day???
my god this is so sick. |

Interesting question, They probably would have been very good.
The problem with Beasley was that although he probably would have made a great PM he was not capable of putting together an effective election campaign.
He was certainly unlucky with a close loss when the war in Afghanistan saved Howard.
Though it would be hard to rate too highly anyone who lost to the weakest leader in the countries history.

Better Prime Minister than this idiot will ever be.
Thank god he's going to be out after one term if he keeps this up.
Hey but at least he read out a sorry statement eh?
What a great PM, that'll solve the economic crisis. |
