remember when drink driving was allowed, Pubs had massive car parks and accidents from drink driving where less. Now don't get me wrong I do not drink drive. but all these laws on driving is just creating excuses for bad drivers, speed doesn't kill, drinking doesn't kill. BAD DRIVERS KILL

The difference SHOULD be noticeable surely?

No. I once had a breath spray about 2 minutes before a breath test. I was asked to pull over to the side for 20 minutes until they could retest. I hadn't had a drop of alcohol at all.

And if the limit is dropped to zero there go any chances of having one glass of wine with lunch and driving home at the end of the work day.

I still stand by my opinion that it won't change anything except the revenue raised. And the Government won't spend it on rehabilitation.
However, if it is dropped and it's proven to be effective I will happily sit here listening to people saying 'i told you so'!

I personally think a zero blood alcohol limit would be a good thing for a few reasons. It would remove the confusion about how much is ok to drink before being 0.05.

Many people only drink one to two drinks and are over. ALso any alcohol can affect driving so to totally remove it causes less confusion and safer driving.

I also think that really there is no good reason to drink and drive. You can have a designated driver, take a cab or spend the night.

I agree that it may only cut the road toll or stop accidents a little but surely that is better than nothing. I also think for been well over the limit in drink driving say like .1 or something it should be something like automatic jail time or removal or car.

It would send a message we will not tolerate drink drivers.

Why lower the limit to below .05? To a normal healthy person .05 has no real effect on their driving.

The reason is that some people start drinking thinking they are only going to have couple, then after the couple think, 'one more won't hurt', then think 'I've been here an hour and a half, surely I could have another', then think, 'I'm having a good time, I'll have more then catch a taxi', then by the time they stagger out after a skinful and all their money spent think, 'I can't afford a taxi, I'll be fine to drive'. THAT'S the reason. Happens LOTS.

Well it`s those people who should avoid drinking, not the whole public.

I like to go out fishing with a few mates, sink a couple of beers with lunch and relax. I purposely only take 2 with me. They make me feel relaxed and enjoy the day more.

It annoys me that I have to give up my pleasures because some dimwits cant control theirs.

I say "Don`t punish everyone because a few dimwits break the rules."

Not to mention the fact that 0% brings countless more examples for blue uniformed fundraisers to harrass the public. Even an alcohol based mouthwash will put one squarely in the sights of lilacz and her oinker mates

I once got legless without drinking a drop by inhaling the fumes whilst bottling wine. No idea what my blood alcohol was but I didn't drive for a couple of days .... I don't believe in paying voluntary taxes to support lilacz and her fellow piglets
