| How many people are happy for the government to fund these things?. After all is it not tax payers money?. The unemployed eventually will also have to get an increase in their benefits, in order for them to make ends meet. Although no one has worked out how that will be funded. Perhaps if we got rid of some thing like the WFD, that money could go towards a fair increase in benefits to help the unemployed. |

<<< work for the dole is a failed experiment as far as im concerned considering that I have done it I beleive that if the government is serious about the unemployed situation they should turn it into a proper job and not a six month thing. >>>

| Hey Tivey..I know some who are good hard working decent people who try every damn day to find a job..but to no avail and still some are dumb enough to call them bludgers ..bad enough they can barely live from week to week..they also have to face the scorn from so many closed minded people who are lucky to have jobs..any of us could lose our jobs at any time in such troubled times in our Country..and the shoe could be on the other foot..Karma it's called |

| Spot on. What people should understand is, those that are employed today, could be the ones that are unemployed tomorrow. After all even if you are working, who has real security these days?. I think a lot of people kid themselves, into a false sense of security. Unemployment can happen to ANYONE. And for those that are unfortunate enough to become unemployed, don't think that you will find work soon. That is not necessarily the case for a lot of people. |

You work for maybe 20+ years.
You lose your job.
Therefore, you are a 'dole-bludger'.

Where talking about doing a days work for the dole. GOD IS THAT SO HARD.1 day a week would not kill a person. Our streets and grass, need to be cut down for the summer. Why on earth cant the fit people do some work.Im afraid that some of you on the boards are making up excuses for the long time bludgers.
We are not talking about the people that have just lost their jobs for no reason except their company has gone broke or cant afford to keep them. |

I agree , Spot on , that's what this topic is all about, personally I see no issues with a person in receipt of govt benefits & not disabled contributing 1 day , why should they be exempt |

Indications from where ?? maybe from a few dole bludgers that's all...
All those n i n c o m p o o p bureaucrats that supposedly run WFD would cost infinitely more to support tha could possibly be gained by 'employing' a bunch of dole bludgers |
