Is he ever in Australia?
It seems Australia elected an absentee PM who likes to jetset around the world looking for ego-boosting photo-ops and opportunities to pretend he knows how to speak a foreign language and embarrass the nation. |

Show me one leader of a nation who never leaves his country...never attends meetings other than in his own country...never discusses global issues unless it is on his own turf...Show me one who doesn't care about global issues...only issues that occur in his own backyard...Show me one who doesn't want trade with other countries...trade means exporting and IMPORTING...
Show me a country that wants an imaginary wall built around his country to keep anyone who was not born here OUT...Show me one who biatches and moans because they are expected to be allies...when it's time to defend democracy whine and cry because your military takes part...but, when a threat is on your doorstep expect all your allies to come running...
Granted, when a tragedy occurs in another country, the Australians are among the first to be there with aid and help...why can't other global requirements of your government be met in this way?
Part of your leaders job is to interact with other leaders..and he/she can't do that if they aren't expected to travel... |

Of course not, after all its not their money they are squandering plus they have the expenditure records of previous incumbents to exceed. Pity none of them realized that even in backwoods countries like OZ we have telephones, internet, video-conferencing etc. |

| Why would he be in Australia? He has been elected PM of this country, but he spends more time elsewhere in the world feathering his nest for a future position in the corrupt UN. |

He was here in Jakarta yesterday kissing Yudiono's arze at the swearing in of the president and his cabinet following their election win.
Whilst many Australians are none too fond of the Indonesian president it has to be said that he at least puts the interests of Indonesia and its people ahead of things.
The same will never be said of Rudd |

Not only Rudd, it's the whole country,
My son said the very same thing about Japan, only a couple of days back ( Until three years ago, he lived there for 6 years)
He says we are too busy being PC and doing everything for 'new Australians' and the people get nothing.
I for one can tell you this is very true. Won't go into it all at the moment, but I can tell you that is you are a woman and a migrant, the world is your oyster........and boy do they know it |

That's great mrsron, but when Laboring were in opposition they were whinging about how much traveling Howard was doing, now that K.Rudd is PM he hasn't stopped! AND he is never in the country - too busy feathering his nest for a cushy UN job after he leaves Office here, hopefully at the next election.
We would much prefer a person in the job who is looking after Australia's best interests, not their own best interests. He doesn't need to travel all over the world to attend every little meeting, or every little inauguration, that is what he has Ministers for. It is called delegation, obviously his ego hasn't figured that word out yet. |

Maybe something in that. I occasionally encounter some invariably very ordinary filipino or other asian female whon is astounded that I don't immediately fall at her feet !!! Not much chance of that I'm afraid as I don't appreciate ANYTHING asian let alone scrubbers. |
