Re:National ID card Reply to this message
Yes
and just think of the Identity makers
instead of forging 20 peaces of information they just have to counterfeit one little card.

The card will fail
The only thing that can achieve the goals they want is to microchip everybody.

What about children?
Do they need a card because now they are on me and the wife's cards.

are you as brain dead as you sound or this is just sarkasm? could you please read about these chips? i will not give you any addresses, but there is growing concern in veterinarian community that this "innocent" chip is actually causative agent in unprecendenced number of tumors! 50% of whose are situatied directly on the chip and in some cases engulf the chip in whole! just try to improve a bit of your knowledge and then voice more informative opinion...

"It would also be very useful for proof of your own identity."

BBWWWAHAHAHAHAHAH

Just like was said earlier.

ONE CARD ONE PLACE TO RIP OFF ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED ABOUT SOMEONE.

This is no joke people. Do you honestly think that one card will be enough? You are delusional if you think that the system will be secure and fool proof.

I have another quote,

What ever man can make, man can break.

An in technology circles, this is SOOOO true.

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
I know all about the tumors
I'm just not convinced the government really cares
After all the first ones to get chipped will be the ones who can't fight back, IE the poor, old and sick

Have you read what they expect this card to achieve??
You can tell them their dreaming
The only thing that will achieve the goals they want is micro chipping everybody and I suspect the government knows this.

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
Also people, remember this: Our so called awe inspiring government with its superfluous knowledge of Information Technology WILL 100% STUFF it up because they will (and i can guarantee you this 1000000%) TAKE the CHEAPEST OPTION AVAILABLE.

They would take it for free and didnt work properly if they could.

Would you trust your personal details and biometric information with just ONE department ?? That could and most certainly will be attempted, hacked and spied on by both internal employees and other external people??

NOT me.

No better way of getting you to accept it other than using lifes negative energies to immorally promote the most controlled society in history.

The Hitlarian dream is getting closer, for those that want it.

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
I have been dealing with a government dept of late and seriously that dept is the most meglomanic I have ever run into and most of the obnoxious ones are women. They seem to think they have all power. Its scary to think what may happen if one government dept is to be trusted with all of our information wizbeysmugfarter.

It was Hawke and what did we get in its place a Medicare Card and the government legaly managing to obtain and keep more information on you than would have been permitted under the card system.

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
we already have cross referncing - taxation office can (and do) ask any department for any information and they are obliged to provide it! so is department of social services...

only departments which cannot ask (but must answer if called!) are gambling and sports...

now, historically speaking there is much more easy to steal single card and identity on it than multiple resources...

what to prevent it? tattoo? auschwitz can provide expertise on that one...

If you want more shackles go to a jail.

If you want freedom, find the key, for we all possess it.

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
I once thought, as others do, that "if you have nothing to hide", bring it on. Yet so many things have changed in this world, haven't they?

In the US they routinely spy on their own citizens, something that was NEVER allowed before. In fact it was specifically OUTLAWED - they couldn't do it! Now they can, and do. Do you think our Government doesn't do it?

You see, what was legal yesterday, can be illegal today. What the Government were UNABLE to do yesterday, they are free to do today!

So, it isn't that you have nothing to hide today, it is what the Government makes illegal tomorrow that you may have to hide. And when we have a man already sitting in prison for a retrospective crime, it could be something that you have already done, but didn't know was a crime until they decided that it was.

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
Remember that the Jails are becoming over crowded too.

We have gone from High security, to maximum security to SuperMax prisons that do not let people out.

And what if it is a misscarriage of Justice, the person lives in Solitary because they were framed so good that it takes years, or never to be found.

This is where we are headed unless we use different methodologies, that produce better results.

THe first step may be addressing the Fear of Crime and Media sensationalisations and stereotypes that fascilitate in this draconian concept.

"We urgently need to introduce a national ID card system with severe penalties for anybody employing or transacting with a person who does not produce an ID card"

You will have to have an id card to walk around your own home soon if you cant produce it you will be locked in/out.

Its in the future and coming soon

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
I think the card might just be a good idea
it will give the crowd something symbolic to burn as the helicopter rescues Howard from the roof of parliament house.

Just 3 more weeks and hopefully this 1984 nightmare will come to an end

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
I agree fully with the card!

Reason being:

My wallet was stolen, I lost all my ID, I replaced the medicare, bank and credit cards, but when it came to my licence it was a hole new world.....

My mother remarried when I was 8 and never changed my name legally, so the only form A ID I had was in my birth name. I was told the only way I could get my licence back was by changing my name legally or got married..... both of these options I need form A ID to do so, and I had not enough ID in either name.

The reason for the change in policy from the QLD government was it had to do with the new terrorist laws????

So I wrote to John Howard and asked for some advice as I was totally stuck, He sent me a pack, 5 months later regarding the new laws and nothing else, Thanks.

So I wrote to Judy Spence and she responded with 2 weeks and set me up with the police commissioner and all I had to do was a questioniare about my previous addresses and licence details.... Simple.

So if there was National ID Card, comfirmed by finger prints or eye scan how simple and easy it would all be, I don't think anyone would agree to that, and I know there is a chance of missuse as there is with everything that comes into our lives, but it is a thought! Try losing your licence and fighting for nearly 2 years to get it back, just because your mum remarried 32 years ago!

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
it is painfully clear that you did not know what to do... you were dealing with burocracy not wiht humans...

in case if this ever happend again - you need to go to your closest member of parliament with your school certificate and medical practitioner letter... he will immediatelly react and force police comissioner in your locality to immediatelly interview you...

do not bother to argue with person on other side of the desk - they are pay to not to understand you...

Re:National ID card Reply to this message
Hi Bzet!

As you point out the person was served by a cone head.
Rulse are broken all the time for well connected people.

In reality it matters little to start the process with basic info, it happens a bit slower and with more trouble to the person at the desk

Bottom line is if you won't make the effort to do your job properly , go home to bed.Give the job some other person who is prepared to do it well.
Good customer service has so many rewards to all concerned.

Crazy?
