| I remember some of the older movies. I think one was called Smiley or Smiley Gets a Gun also one that was one staring Harry Secome (not sure of spelling) he was an English school teacher who went to the out back to teach and they formed a school choir and went to the city. They may not be the funniest but I remember getting a laugh out of these movies when I was a kid I haven't seen them in years. |

Priscilla Queen of the Desert will always crack me up even after all these years. Terence Stamp bemoaning the death of his friend, a classic scene!
Croc Dundee, the first one, funny stuff!
The Crack/Craick or whatever, hilarious rubbish!! |

"the movie was "young einstein" (about 1989 i think) and the actor was yahoo serious"
Anyone seen Young Einstein recently? Apart from forgetting how good it was, and not being a kid now, I noticed how much Australiana is in this movie. Nearly every scene is made over the top with Australian cliches and stereotypes with amazing scenery and cinematography. I know that when Australians make a movie for an Australian audience they are told to make it as 'Aussie' as possible but boy this movie goes to great lengths. |

Thunderstruck was a good aussie flick,
Aswell as Garage Days,
Dirt,
Ofcourse The Castle..(love it)
My dad always raves about Death in Brunswick.. Will have to watch it one day soon..
I liked 28 shades..
and loved the movie Stranded.. Although I've only been able to catch it on SBS a few times. can't find it on DVD anywhere..
The Nugget was also good..
I really enjoy aussie comedies.. our country needs to make more! |

I think "Proof" is the movie you might be searching for.
A great Aussie black comedy featuring Hugo and Russell Crowe
"Bad Boy Bubby" is certainly one of my favourite (very black) Aussie comedies.
Must admit I find most of the others mentioned (especially anything with Jimeon in it) rather lame and predictable (along with most hollywood comedy) |

Hasn't anyone ever seen Hercules Returns? By far the funniest Aussie movie I've ever seen.
The man from Hong Kong is also great. Another one I liked was Mr Reliable. |
