Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
tam, I found this ebook helpful in terms of how to get into mining without any experience.. It has heaps of training providers listed throughout australia, list of minimum requirements, and a huge list of all the mine sites in aus too, so you can post your resume to them.. it cost me $20 but it was usefull with the info it provided.. http://www.bellbiz.biz/

goodluck,

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
shivers, in regard to the licence this might depend on whether you lost it through speeding or drink driving but my daughter doesn't have one at all and still did okay. Give your resume to as many as you want, like westie said it wont take long till you're working.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
Looking at getting into the mining industry. I am looking at the OHS safety side of things, possibly a safety officer.

I have been a fire fighter 25 years which involves obviously fire fighting rescue and maintenance of equipment. I am fully qualified in conducting safety and fire surveys. I am currently studying cert 4 in OHS and I am the OHS rep for my workplace. I have a occupational st johns first aid certificate and can administer oxygen as required. I have completed a few management courses I am also in charge of up to 10 people at a time. What else do I need to do to be compeditive for a job as a safety officer besides spell better?

Do you realise that even the gross wage for 125,000 a year is $2403.84? Miners pay tax you know. It's people exagerrating the worth of mining jobs that is leading to a lack of Uni graduates and apprentices in the metro areas.
