Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
I have heard that the mines are getting rid of dead wood, and contractors as they are the highest paid out. Alot are still hiring people as the internet recruitment sites for alot of the mines are still asking for people but it is qualified trades people they need.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
Head to www.mineblogger.com.au for the latest on who is hiring and for their free 130 page online Inside Guide. This is the only site supported by industry employers. The website founder, previously of BHPB has also featured in a number of recent newspaper articles and radio interviews about scam sites and information, particularly in relation to the minejobsaustralia website.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
three mine closures in WA ;in the last couple of days- hundreds laid off-2 major nickle ones out of Kalgoorlie and a Vanadium one in recievership-and sell out Forest ;is talking to the Chinese; to sell more of WA to them.
Wonder how many mines or areas of China ;that are owned by overseas interests??!!

Large percentage of the Pilbara underwater-Major damage to Rio's rail network with bridge works washed away-a few days supply on the wharf but much longer to fix the infrastructure.

Major fresh water pipe to Karratha Dampier and Wickham knocked out and NW Coastal Hway ;under water and closed.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
peaceleo69 yes i saw that peace, not very good at all. I have just finished a $4000 processing plant course well actually end of january, but haven't been able to find a mining company who wants to continue my training with. Mining companies are still hiring, and some are still letting people go but not holding my breath for one, that is for sure. But would have liked a job as a process technican since i paid out my $4000 with a registered training officer that taught us about the processing side and how it works and valves and the tagging and isolation side. I have a bob cat(skid steer) fork lift , working at heights EWP licence, working in confined spaces. Doing JHA'S ,metallferous 11 in open cut mining, just need a job to continue with and make it a career.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
I'm really sure I wouldn't want to pay out nearly $5000 to do a course and then be told I wasn't suitable. I would want to know before the course and before I forked out the money.

Bit off topic but since the boom's all bust and accomodation for new ventures apparently has to be upgraded.....

Q- Does anyone know who to get in touch with for the supply/sale of Used Demountable/Transportable /Donga type accommodation and kitchen units?

To use on rural southern property??????????
must be shitloads out there somewhere.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
to barry scott nz

What you were watching was a load of BS.All mines only hire ppl with previous mining experiences(if you are male)

An exception to the rule is if you already have a relative working at that mine.By the way women do not need previous mining experience and that includes driving haul trucks.
