unless you have a career and experience in something that they need in the mining industry they are only employing those with trades that are already trained and experienced or those who have paid a few thousand dollars and done a course through a mining service at your expense. times are tough at the moment.

mining isn't looking all that rosy at the moment,BHPB is closing it's Ravensthorpe mine in which 700 jobs will go.

200 at argyle Diamonds last week,
I've 3 mates (usually FIFO from Pilbara)-
just yesterday left a site thats loosing 450 in all by next month.

this is just the beginning folks...if it follows the UK and USA there are going to be many more jobs disappear this year, and the knock on effect to other sectors of business will snowball into a situation that most if us would never have seen before....time to batten the hatch down i think.
