Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
hi nkrepp thanks for the response man I guess i will have to leave it till 2009 because I would need to move over to WA or Qld to sit the marcsta plus whatever else I would need plus get a job in the meantime to sustain myself. Is there any truth that there have been mine closures etc in WA and what effect will this have in the WA area meanwhile I am viewing all the various types of message boards / forums just to keep myself updated etc

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
hey phillip marcsta is only done in western australia, queensland and the rest of aussie do the generic one which is a three day course and i think about $450 for the course. You only need the police clearance for western aussie as well.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
phillip there has been mine letting a few people go. Some are needing money to keep them going through the rough spot. But some are still looking for workers and still needing qualified people. so apply from your end or ring them up. I start my processing plant course middle of january at this stage, this has been requested by one of the copper mines for this course to be provided. so it would depend on whether the miners who lost their jobs are qualified in the work that is available whether they get the jobs in preference to others. But just keep saving in nz as you will need a lot of money for courses, and the cost of rent etc, bonds, or leases etc.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
with the cost of living going up every day and the financial crises across the world, it is essential to be employed to be able to live reasonably comfortable, and most people these days would take any kind of job to feel secure. rio tinto work practices were questioned when accusations of slave labour in their mines in south africa were revealed, not to mention their stand-over tactics when dealing with aboriginal traditional owners here in the nt, moving into aboriginal communities, setting up a local newsletter with biased stories to influence the indigenous population to allow them to mine.
not a company i would like to work for even if i was desperate for work. principals.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
Roger Temple Bell has been convicted as a scam operator once before
http://www.cabinet.qld.gov.au/MMS/StatementDisplay Single.aspx?id=58812

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/articles/2008/06/2 5/1214073319560.html?feed=fairfaxdigitalxml

I have contacted the Queensland Office of Fair Trading in regard to this latest con. It seems that Roger Temple Bell is an unscrupulous thief, and prey’s on people’s efforts to better their circumstances.

Roger Temple Bell owes me $166 for his rubbish Induction Course and useless Mines Passport. They were purchased by me for a friend who was desperate to gain work in the mining industry, and was actually offered a job in Collinsville. The job never existed.

My friend resigned his job and was about to leave for Collinsville, and yet, even after the mythical operation was ‘shut down’, Roger Temple Bell and his so called office lady “Linda” didn’t have the decency to inform us that the job was canceled (as if it ever even existed)

My advice...stay away from anything associated with Roger Temple Bell, and use legitimate Job Network Agencies to pursue jobs in the mining industry.....and spread the word

www.minejobsaustralia.com was shut down for a few weeks, but is again being used to peddle his books and CD's. They appear to have no clout in the industry, nor do they guarantee any job anywhere.

Roger Temple Bell is running a scam and has been convicted as a scam operator http://www.cabinet.qld.gov.au/MMS/StatementDisplay Single.aspx?id=58812

Roger Temple Bell is a con artist and has been found out before http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/articles/2008/06/2 5/1214073319560.html?feed=fairfaxdigitalxml

I have contacted the Queensland Office of Fair Trading. Roger Temple Bell is an unscrupulous thief, and prey’s on people’s efforts to better their circumstances.

Roger Temple Bell owes me for his rubbish Induction Course and sleazy Mines Passport. They were purchased by me for a friend who was desperate to gain work in the mining industry.

Roger Bell is a parasite. He doesn’t advertise an email address or a phone number because he doesn’t want to be found.

Roger Bell is still using www.minejobsaustralia.com to peddle his books. They are rubbish and have no clout in the industry, nor do they guarantee any job anywhere.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
billsdennis, i brought lots of books of him last year before i moved to australia, and got all the garbage about you are just the kind of candiate we are looking for in the mining industry. If you should just purchase this passport and something else you will be ready. so i told them i had brought enough books to last me a life time and that they could shove it where the sun don't shine. As it is who you know, not what you know that was getting you into the mining industry. Linda wrote and said well if you should have any trouble getting in just let them know. But i had brought 4 books and they gave me one for free. But they obviously weren't checking their files often as she kept offering me books i had already purchased, which started to p,,, me off. That is good news hearing that he is a scammer because that is what i had thought after they pestered me to keep buying. There is a few like that as i think Hogan mining is the same , they get you to fill out their letter of interest ,then when you send it , they say for the information it will cost you $241 and then they will process your information. so i didn't do that one as i thought, if they are a recruitment place, the company looking for the worker would pay the fee, not the worker. so now i don't buy the books as it is more money spent that you may not recover back again.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
A Very Sincere Apology to Rosco Smith posted on the yahoo message board page 13 20th October 2008 @ 8.25pm
The following message was sent to Kiwigal53 on the abovementioned date which read : ' kia ora kiwigirl both my partner and I are contemplating in going to Perth with the intention of working in the mines. Like you we have done quite a bit of research and purchased Roger Bell's, Rosco Smith, Hogans e books etc...no more because at the end of the day it comes down to you and the people you know in the industry'....at no time did I intend to cast any negativity with Mr Rosco Smith or any slur against his good name.. I got caught up in the hype at the time when people mentioned that they had purchased e books and were dissatisfied with their purchase. I had purchased Mr Rosco Smith's e book well before I made the comment in the yahoo forums and found it very informative and certainly I was very happy with my purchase. after I made the abovementioned comment Mr Smith sent me a whole list of entry level positions in a mine in the Queensland area. He does back up his words that if his clients have any questions he is only too willing to give you an answer via email. Why did it take me so long to apologise because I could not remember what page I had listed the comments on so when I had a quiet moment I searched the yahoo forums and wella it was on page 13. You may ask Why did I use this forum to apologise... well it was on this same forum that I made the comments...but I have sent Mr Rosco Smith an apology via his email address So once again Mr Smith please accept my sincere apologies

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
ross smiths book is excellent, it is well worth the money and is definitely not one of the scammers. Hogans, and mr roger bell are the ones that charge high prices for what, nothing really. ross smiths book is excellent ,not only does it explain what some of the jobs do and the titles and who to contact if interested in those kind of jobs. He also mentions he will reply to messages that you send him asking questions and he is a man of his word. Very helpful. so yes phillip he is a good person and his book is well reccommended to read.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
A Kiwi was hoping to immigrate to Australia. Upon arriving in Australia, he was questioned by a customs officer, "What is your business in Australia?"

"I wish to immigrate," was the Kiwi's reply.

The customs officer then asked, "Do you have a conviction record?"

Confused, the Kiwi then replied, "I didn't think you still needed one."

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
I work for BHP Billiton and they support a website called Mineblogger.com.au which tells you where the jobs are now and coming down the track for the Australian resource sector across australia. It's headed by their recent recruitment manager and in their latest emaail to me said that the Inside Guide that is currently sold on the site will be made free to all by the end of the month. They post updates each week and sent you an email to let you know. It's all FREE and good information, although its only just started (November 08).

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
yes why dont we all get a mining job so we can earn big bucks and in return get charged $10 for a pint of beer, $400000 for a house in lockridge and $2 for a can of coke from a vending machine, it is the greed and mindset of a select few who are ruining western australia for the rest of us.
