Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
I would kindly take up a job at one of the South Australian based mines if i had like 5 or 10 grand to invest on getting a HR licence and Blue Card or a certficate in public safety fire & rescue operations, as with most contract jobs they are only for a set fixed term so theres no assurance of secure employment

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
It pays to do the courses if thats what you have to do to get in the mines,,once you work in one mine its a lot easier to get a job in another,,years ago when i worked in the mines i was lucky enough to get a job just by calling into the pub in tennant creek and had a few games of pool and 10 beers with the right people,,we had a few laughs and they offered me work,,i was on a plane with them the next day to the granites gold mine,,just have to be lucky sometimes,,i think the pubs the best place to find work if you are new in a town,,as long as youre friendly and can have a laugh people like that and can see what you are like unlike interviews etc..

I suggest that you take a course in english and in particular spelling. I doubt you would pass a tofel test.

No professional recruitment group worth their salt will charge you any up front fees. I have contracted through out Australia. Asia and the Middle East. I have never paid fees to any group. Any group demanding fees aould have to be suspect.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
Hi guys,

I'm looking for sparkies who are interested in short term work (at this stage) in the mining industry over here in the west (Pilbara). The gig will pay 4k per week but importantly will provide exposure to the mines for those who want a foot in the door. The only requirement is a WA electrical workers (EW) license

post an expression of interest here if this is you or tell a mate to....and I will provide an email address ...

><><

Firstly; these are only message boards-not an examination.

Secondly; I could not find a mistake in marks post.

Thirdly; what is a tofel test? Has it something to do with mining?

Fourthly;English-in the form you have used it; begins with a capital letter.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
Hi, my partner is 48 and has been a dairy farmer all his life. He has a HR lisence and is experienced in tractors loaders and all of the usual farm machinery and repairs and maintenance of said equipment and pumps. He is strong as an ox and works his butt off but has had it with droughts and cows and wants a new life before he's too old. He is keen to try mining. Can you suggest how he should start looking. He's available immediately and prepared to move to wherever ther's work.

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
Ahhhhhh...... someone is writing the truth, always wondered, what kind of planes!! Anyway, yeah would like a dump truck job, however what about when you running towards the 60ties??
(don't look it thou, and fit as a fish) Do they like the more mature and reliable or do they want the young and restless??
Would it be worthwhile to hunt for the "big money" or would I be waisting my time, and better stick to driving Truck and Trailer. I will move within the next 4 months to Aussie, still don't know, Queensland,or W.A, so give me another piece of advice lexie133. Cheers!!!

Re:Mining Jobs Reply to this message
hey, thanx for all the good advice here, very helpfull..
was wondering about the national police check, if you have any record at all, for arguments sake lets say cannibis, that would mean you would fail, so does that mean you cant work in any mines forever
