| I support daylight savings but once again this argument of "everyone else is doing it,why shouldnt we" is complete crap. My daughter uses the same excuse to get herself out of trouble all the time. |

Trevor dahhling, you are not a true DLS believer but are a closet darksider, I can tell this from the way you pretend to be a DLS supporter but always push and back the anti day light saving excuses from the darkside.
Come out of the closet luv and be honest with yourself and others. You will get much more respect then. |

1: I'm for Daylight saving
2: As a shift worker whether I start at 7 am or 8 pm; its a condition of my job.
3: Business is the lobbyist for daylight saving not the families with young children
4: Business, if needed, can change their business hours from 9am - 5 pm to 7 am - 3 pm if they need to communicate interstate or internationally.
5: Lobby for staggered Business hours and reduce peak hour traffic; create accessible service - you may start at 9am yet can access a business at 7 am rtaher than a mad flap during your lunch hour...
6: Offer a sound reason for or against a proposal, curtains will fade regardless of the start of your day!
7: Currently working O/S with daylight saving and loving it, I get to kayak for the extra hour or two at the end of my working day... just magic! |

ausgal, that sunburn on your neck isnt from the beach, its from standing out on the road drinking bourbon watching your dope smoking bogan mates doing burnouts in the street.
Happy trials bogan!

I really can't see any reason why we cant have daylight saving as such if that is what city folk want HOWEVER the infrAstructure relating to farming communities should revole around solar time.
During the last trial period I had young children on a farm I also drove a school bus. Believe me it was horrific.
The children had to be woken earlier in the cool when they really needed that extra sleep. Unfortunatly the animals could not be seen to any earlier so their welfare was stll solar time. Hence with all the best intentions all evening work was late including meals.
On the school bus, sitting behind a large expance of glass with no air con was pure hell.I drove swathed in wet towels to try and keep my body temperature down. I took large containers of Ice water for the kids because they were also distressed. You may think one hour does not make much difference, perhaps you should try it some time, I dont believe all school buses are air conditioned even now.
If country schools could start later that would help a little. my children were first on the bus leaving home at seven also last of at four thirty, I forgot about the kids who had to come and meet us at the terminus add another half hour to their day
It is very true we cant always see the other side of an issue We only look at it from our own perspective |

Daylight Saving.
Pros,
1. 1 less hour in the heat while at work.
2. 1 hour more daylight after work.
Cons
1. Main one, we should have decided, not the state government.
2. Finishing work/school, during the hottest time/most UV light time of the day.
3. Some fast food outlets didn't extend there opening hours.
4. Now have to spend an extra hour in the morning in the dark watering the vineyard. Trucks still turn up at 9am.
5. Daylight saving works better in lower latitudes than where Perth is, even worse in the far north.
Having to go to work in the dark all year now, whereas before it would be light for almost half a year.
6. Kinda messed up the skyworks, making it start 1 hour later, which means more time for troublemakers.
7. We are now out of step with the major Asian Stock markets, and 1 hour further behind other markets.
I am sure there is much more. |

| You say the farms should run on solar time, does this mean that you adjust 20 mins every week, this is how much the days get longer or shorter depending on the season. Sorry the logic just does not make sense. |

DLS Pros
light on an evening not at 5.00am when its no good being light.
more entertainment time outdoors with family and friends
Healthier more active children, having more outdoors time.
Better business communication with the eastern states.
Lighter evenings less time for the Hoons to play up in the darkness.
Better sports facilities and training available in the light evenings, resulting in finer WA athletes.
In general just a healthier more active life with rewards to WA in business and tourism.
Yes if only you DARKSIDERS could be enlightend, lay back, relax and enjoy the new modern lifestyle. Get out from infront of the TV, help your children become healthier.
Its a well known fact that the darksiders do not like their children as they claim they cannot get rid of them to bed due to the light nights when the children want to be active and involved in healthy outdoor activities.
PS Trevour dahhhling I prefer my champers with a good slurp of Cognac and a small dash of strawberry liquor and a small small pinch of sugar.
As always affection & Love
Ausgal

Why is it, that ausgal reminds me of a quote from Winston Churchill.
A woman in the crowd yelled out "If you were my husband, I would put poisen in your tea!"
The great man replied "madam, if I were your husband, I would drink it"
Ausgal, there are some who would take offense at your gutter comments insinuating that some people do not like their kids. Why do you have to stoop so low to push your arguments? |

| pmccrakan, the reason ausgal "stoop(s) so low" is because shes a hillbilly who lives in a caravan park. She is a little bit less fortunate then you and I. If you see her busking in the mall in Freo with her little collection tin (making the most of DAYLIGHT SAVINGS)be sure to throw her some coins, preferably gold ones. |

BECAUSE ITS TRUE
Also it was not a woman in the crowd but "Lady somebody" at a dinner party.
her exact words "if you were my husband I would poison that drink" Churchill replied "Madam were you my wife I would drink it"
PS Trevour Dahhling, should I choose to slurp my congac I shall do so, I would not use $20 Brandy for cooking much less drinking.
Once again and with deep conviction

Forcegolf, farms run on normal time, during winter vineyards don't normally need to be watered, but during summer watering is normally started at about 5am, so before DLS there would have been almost 2 months of semi daylight to pin point any problems, now there is no daylight so more time using artifitial light.
Hur, communication with the eastern states, WA produces most of the resources boom, which goes over seas, we should be not moved away in time from the major markets of the world, like Japan, the UK for example.
Anyway we should decide if we want it, not the government. |

I am certainly against daylight saving.
1. My 16 month old granddaughter has trouble getting off to sleep - it's still daylight and still too hot.
2. If I want to go for my exercise walk in the morning coolness, then I need to go when it is still dark!
3. School children arrive home, most times when the temperature is at it's hottest. So those lucky enough to have air conditioners turn them on earlier. You try doing homework inside a hot house! Yet what have we been seeing on the TV lately? Don't turn on airconditioners during the peak hours! Why should the school children, babies and the elderly have to put up with being so hot? I know it's only one hours difference but it is surprising how much trouble it causes to many in WA. |
