Bark Busters takes a "blanket" approach to all dogs. In other words they ONLY know and use ONE technique to train all dogs. There technique may work some dogs. But not all. I work at a vet clinic. We have a shelter that has TWO Bark Buster "trainers" on staff. NONE of the shelter dogs have ever left the shelter trained in the 5 years that I have been at the clinic. That is because IMHO these idiots are NOT trainers. They make a bad attempt at modifying bad behavior. That is not training it is re-conditioning. The very idea of growling at a VERY DOMINATE dog very well might get you bit! The idea that a bag of metal scrap will frighten a dog ( again something bigger and badder than a Shih Tzu) is absolutely insanity. One of our shelter worker a Barker Buster "trainer" can't solve her own aggression problems between the dogs in her own home!!! One of her dogs has been in four times in two years for several stitches. Bark Busters is a very expensive joke.I would suggest anyone looking for a dog trainer would ask the trainer they are considering for a demonstration with that trainers personal dogs. That will give you an idea of their ability. Second ask if the trainer has titled or shown their dogs with awards or video as evidence.(always get the proof ;) ) I hope this helps someone before they blow $600 to $800 on some jackass who bought into a franchise and now calls themselves a "Trainer"

I would never let my dogs be trained. I let my dogs be dogs not a trained monkey.

Unfortunatley though, some dogs need training when you live with young kids. But supervision is still the best prevention.
