Good to see so many people still keeping in touch, who have known eachother for a long time in the early days of GML.
I hope you all can make an eford for the next reunion in 2 years time, as we all don't get any younger.
Take care, Fritz |

Hi John,
Myself and Christine Jolly were only able to show the movies as we were not able to get hold of a laptop. A lot of people asked for copies of both and I would have loved to show all the photos.
Next time we will be a bit more orgenaised. As you know this is very hard as everyone goes apart again to normal their normel routine of life.
Not like you see eachother every day as in GOOD OLD GOLDSWORTHY.
All keep in touch. |

Hi again
Mick Nichols was our foreman (A Shift) 1976, I used to play the guitar in the Wet Mess, I was on the Drills 40-R and 60-R. It used to terrify me putting the drill on the jumbo because the buggers had such a short steep ramp. Got over it eventually. One thing I enjoyed was gatecrashing everyone else's shift keg on Friday nights at 12.00 o'clock. Charlie Joslan and Tol Vankins were crooners and enjoyed a good sing-a-long. Grandad, Stroppy (Don) -(C Shift) were good mates.
I left in August 1984 - but still have fond memories of Shay Gap as if it was yesterday. I was Ray Tapatu but you will still not remember me.

| Hi,spent couple of years in Shay Gap,lived in Siberia for awhile, haven't things changed in the mining game? At the moment I live in Newman and now drive a dump truck,is not a bad job.Used to drive the Wabco's at the Gap on test track after air con repairs on them and thought I could do this one day. Many years later I'm doin it,but for those still in the game, wow, has there been some changes. My name is Ray Gannon and I was talking to a Ken Barney awhile ago,and we were wondering about a few people from there,Mick Oberon for one, anyone know how he's goin or where he is?Sorry I missed the back to,I would have probably enjoyed it as I am a peaceful person these days and appreciate things a bit more, one being my hands I guess, and being allowed to walk into a club and have a quiet drink. Regards to anyone that I know or knew anyway. |
