real estate agents are so crooked there is an industry dedicated to it (jenmanfightsback.com.au)
jenman originally stated 50% of all real estate agents were crooks. They complained and he changed it to say 50% of real estate agents are not crooks.
He later recanted and said 80% of real estate agents are crooks.
from my dealings with this industry it is populated by people who have invariably failed at every other thing they ever did, then ended up in real estate.
It's not so much the case that 80% of real estate agents are crooks, but the industry tends to attract low skilled, under-educated sales types who have learnt over the course of their lives to make do, get by, say or do what you have to to make a buck here and there.
Real estate agents are shonky people generally who rip us all off, then flaunt it by driving flash cars and expensive sunglasses.
I have utter contempt for this industry and the people in it. I will never allow another agent to lie and take such a slice of the value of my home ever again. |

What does crooked mean in the context of a real estate agent.
It can't just relate to the size of the fee versus the effort put in to earn it - because that's not crooked - that's just geting away with what many other professions also get away with - being overpaid.
Are we talking about lying, deceit, fraud or what? Those sort of things are crooked.
I don't doubt the crooked claim, but I'd like to know exactly what agents are accused of doing and what the dirty tricks are. |

real estate agents (often ex car salesman or insurance salespeople) are simply white trash with no moral compass.
many people rent now for various reasons to do with the cost of housing and the economy, and these are the types who have some kind of authority over renters. I know of one property manager who is a part time "nail technician" when she is not giving renters breach notices for not mowing the lawn on time to her standard! |

| I would kind of have to go back on my words a bit... I have dealt with an excellent real estate, the compassion and understanding they showed actually made me emotional. I was going through separation and couldnt keep renting a house, they offered to rent me a flat and allowed me to break my lease. It was a family operation in Annandale, maybe Babbington or something. Lovely people. |

I'm not sure why Jenman is the white knight of real estate.
Only once have I have interaction with an agent who practices the "Jenman" method of real estate sales, and I must admit, it was one of the creepiest and ickiest real estate experiences of my life.
I prefer to take "pot luck" with traditional agents and practice appropriate "caveat emptor" which we should all do anyway.
As for rental agents, yeah there are good and bad, as there are tenants. |

| For someone who goes by the name fairgo you fall a bit short when it actually comes to giving people a fair go and as an agent myself of 17 years I can tell you that like any other occupation there are good and bad people in the industry. As far as Jenman goes he's as bigger crook getting around as there is, he's just worked out a way to get rich quick himself and judging by yourself there's plenty of gullible people out there that he can easily suck in. |

I recall when I was buying my house in 2002.
I failed to notice a broken window that was hidden
by a overgrown shrub growing over the window until after I signed the contract.
Asked the selling agent to please get this repaired through
the former owner's insurance policy.
Selling Agent refuses and advises me to make a claim on my insurance policy after I insure my house.
Couldn't believe their attitude of expecting me to
commit a petty insurance fraud over a window I didn't personally break. I ended up just paying $550 to repair the window myself. Just goes to show me what some Real Estate Agents are all about. |

| Once the deal is done the previous owners insurance is no longer in existance for that property. A pest and building inspection prior to purchase would have brought a broken window to your attention and you could have negotiated with the then Vendor to remedy the situation as part of the deal. |

| the investment company i work for deals with various real estate agencies on a daily basis. as stated before there are good and bad in all spheres and there are shonky real estate agents, these people do not last long in the business. those who we deal with on a regular basis are professional, ethical and do their job well in a rat race profession. You can not tar them all with the same brush. |
