| I am a trade qualified engine reconditioner, I have 7 years trade experience, both in engine reconditioning and as a machinist, have worked on farms for 6 years, living in Perth now. Currently working as a draftsperson in the mining industry. Not happy with current salary. What is the best way to get a job on the mines? I am not afraid of hard work, or trying something new. |

| The same way you get a job anywhere else. Papers, net, agencies like Skilled or Mining People. Seek has lots of mining or related jobs. Use your initiative. |

hard to get a job now, but yep lots of stuff on SEEK, but also lots of experienced competition (given the last several months lay offs).
I read somewhere recently that BHPB had 120 jobs going a while ago & had to process over 1000 applications for those jobs - puts things into a bit of perspective at least, and probably not what you wanted to hear. Sorry |
