The truth is Ausgal the East could not survive without WA - name one state that is not completely bankrupt and taking more money from the Feds than it puts in.
It may be that each state simply needs a goverment that is based on nd runs the state on sound finacial practice.
Labour has never been able to manage financial matters, look at the debt Rudd has gotten Australia into,
and look at how many young families will lose their homes as Rudds low interest rates climb back to labour goverment levels |

Ausgal the worst interest rates this nation ever saw were down to one JW Howard as the world's worst treasurer between 77 and 83. Labor on it's election in 83 capped them at 13.5% .25% lower than the going rate at the time. The Liberals, this is in Hansards if you care to look, did a dirty deal. They would not block something else Labor wanted through the Senate (the AD's and others did not support) if it reverse the block and re-introduced negative gearing on shares and real estate - Labor caved and did it. As I recall the highest point was 18.5% and housing then was more affordable than now. I recall at one time with that nutter Howard as treasurer they got to 21% albeit briefly. It was Keynsian economics at its worst run away inflation with the government, who controlled rates at that time, increasing interest rates every time to try to curb the out of control inflation. Failed miserably and it beats me why the RBA uses this same model now.
WA pumps an awful lot in to the national economy and this is the money that not only Rudd but Costello and Keating before him spend badly.
If we left and kept the money the East would sink fast.
I fully support another referendum on it and one should have to prove they have lived in WA for at least 8 years (two full terms) to be able to vote. We voted Yes in the 1930's. |

I think most of us wise people from the east,especially those of us who have spent some time in WA, have a genuine feeling of sorrow and pity for the average west australian. Many WA people have never been over to proper Australia and simply follow their parents statements also made in ignorance.
Hopefully as travel become cheaper and WA youth sees real australia they will return to WA determined to make a change. |

Problem is, they will not hire extra people, they will force those they already have, to work the extra time.
Please tell me how that is progressive, this is not going to further provide employment, it will just steal time from families. If it meant more employment, sure, but I do not see that happening, because they can't get enough people now. |
