I really do love when you go on about how 'backward' West Australians are, given your view on pretty much everything. |

I'm the first to criticise the ridiculous idea of WA seceding.
But ausgal is just so... |

One advantage with the idea of seccession that is often overlooked is the amount of money that W.A taxpayers could save in not having to fund the exhorbitant and luxurious lifestyles of the Federal politicians, public servants and retired gravy-train "Gold Card" riders.
Now that in itself would be worth seceding for! |

The problem is that the average West Australian taxpayer is now supporting so many "Gravy Train Riders" and interstate Bandidos that the provision of public services is starting to suffer.
I mean, quite honestly, why should the W.A taxpayer be paying for free travel for retired Tasmanian M.P's for the rest of their lives? |

Look, I'm sorry if I seem to be being cruel towards the Tasmanian taxpayer, but the facts are Tasmania contributes very little towards the running costs of the Australian Commonwealth (as you call it), but the retired Tasmanian M.P's take more than their fair share from the public funded "Gravy Train"? Why then should Western Australians be paying for the upkeep of a failed state like Tasmania? Surely the retired M.P's from that state are capable of getting up off their lazy ar$e$ and working for a living?

But that's a silly comparison & a selfish one , I am a full time employee & don't rely on govt handouts ..
Using your philosophy I should withhold 40% of taxes I pay as they go to unemployed & assorted Old age , TPI , Disability pensions ..
By the way I bet you are grateful we are contributing to your pension...
Bit of Hypocracy here |

You're a full-time employee?? I'm surprised Nappy that you are even employable, given your dismal grasp upon the subject of perks for polly's and your extrodinary ability to jump to the wrong conclusions!
Anyway, I can assure you that you contribute not one solitary cent to my pension as I don't get one. But I do take it (from your previous posts) that you agree that thousands of ex-politicians should be living the life of Flynn at the expence of the W.A taxpayer? |

here's a little job for you minimind: find the exeact point where I said that. You find the exact words that I posted to prove this point you fat fool. And do try not to trip over the posts I have made in numerous threads where I advocated secession.
If you can actually find evidence to spport YOUR claim I will track you down and GIVE YOU $10,000. |

Take some of the great countries of the world, France, Britain and the United States for example. Paris existed as a settlement before it became a seat of government, so did London, and so did Washington too!
On the other hand, take Canberra. This city was founded simply to house a horde of public servants and it's political aperachiks. It produces nothing but "manure" and suck the very life blood out of the rest of the nation.
Hahahaha, what fool would want to remain part of a parasitical union that exist only to drain the life-blood out of it's citizens? |

We have a government cutting services, such as Crime Stoppers, because of cash flow issues.
This can not be blamed on over spending by the previous government the blame rests totally with the fact that the money goes east and only about 1/5, if that, of what goes out comes back.
We were forced in to Federation. We do not care if the other states do not want us to leave. It's is high time we told them to POABQ and went our own way. |

We'd need to have a referendum, of course.
And, since WA seems to be scared of change (no DLS, weekend trading, etc.), I'm sure the NO vote will win, as usual... |

WA cannot govern themselves, neither the labour of Liberal goverments of WA have been capable of running a state so how would they run a country.
The WA people are too friendly and gullible to survive on their own.
Sorry folks but you do not have what it takes.
WA is still a great place to visit for a few days. If you want to unwind, relax and do nothing. |

Name one Federal Government in the last 30 years that, with the exception of Keating opening the trade with China and other Asian nations that fuelled the boom and our recent survival, that has done anything of note?
Sure WA has had a load of tw1t leaders and governments since the days of Charlie Court but I can't see one of the doing any worse than an Fed govet has done since Menzies. |

And the Bjelkie, Iemma, Brax, Rand, Fahey, Bligh, etcetera, etcetera etcetera governments have done SOOOOO much better...
...sounds like the talk of someone who has done very well at the expense of WA and is worried about losing her position at the trough... |

We did do wel out of our time in WA, our careers went ahead and our financial standing improved with it.
Luck also played a part as We were very lucky to have bought our Perth Properties on our arrival in Perth well ahead of the boom, while this does not help us until we retire it is comforting to know the money is there when we want.
Also returning to Sydney when the prices had hit bottom, also helped again.
However I fail to see what this has to do with WA's inability to govern itself as a country, it has not managed yet as a state and is still 20 years (or more) behind the rest of Australia.
WA secede never in a million years. |

| Can I reiterate, the views and opinions of Ausgal in no way reflect my own. I'm happy to see the gradual change in Perth - and hope it continues for the better - but I would sooner hang myself with my own intestine than be anything like her. |
