Perth is so dull. and byes to be able to go out you need to be cashed up

Okay lets go through the ages.

2 - 10
- Jungle gym: 20 dollars per person, thats excluding food and drink
- fun Factory: 20 pp again
- Movies - 25 pp all up.
so those activies all of them will escalate to over $40
keeping in midn these sessions only last 2 hours.

10 - 17
- Movies.
- beach.
- Gigs.
- adventure world, kalamunda water park, great escape, cable ski. $30 +
Movies are about $16 and the drink alone is $4.50.
Beach, only good when its not cr5owded.
Gigs, $10 if you like local bands.
Again. this isnt all day.
Water parks? there shit. there expensive. there cold.

18 - 45
- Pubs. Pubs are only allowed open until 12.00 in w.a
- Live Bands. it is illegal to have live music playing after 12.
- BBQ at the beach, it is illegal to consume alcohol in a public place. weather its 2 50 year olds or 20 18 year olds drinking in parks now has 0 tolerance.
- sunday session - $50
movies - 30

notice how I left rottnest out?

thats because it is so expensive, also if you personally do not have a boat it is boring as hell If you do have a boat its still boring and expensive.

I totally agree with sunnycheeks84. I live in the UK and come over to Perth every year, funds allowing. There is no place in the world I would rather be than Perth (damn those tight immigration rules!!!). The first time we came out here we thought we would spend loads of money. We hardly spent a thing. We had a fantastic time at Joondalup Festival and the Joondalup market on friday evenings. We spent an afternoons listening to bands at Mindarie. We walked some of the coastal paths, we went to Freo and enjoyed our visit to the prison, which did cost, but not a great deal. There are many many things to do in Perth. We stay for a month at a time and are never at a loss for something to do.

Perhaps some people get complacent about their home city, get in a rut and don't get off their backsides, open their eyes and see what their wonderful city has to offer.

"When you live there you cant relax because you are so depressed because you know you are living in the most boring city in the world".

- No offence m_cc06, but you sound like someone who's about to jump off a bridge.

"That’s why it has the highest home burglary rate in the country, because people are bored!"

- No.... people break into houses because they are selfish s h i t heads who have no respect for other people.

Just out of curiousity, what kind of things do you consider to be fun???

For those who depend on the city and late night trading to have fun, maybe you are better off in somewhere like Sydney.
But to say "nothing" happens in Perth is absolute rubbish!
Heaps does go on, but its around the city areas and in the suburbs.

Re:Perth is not Dullsville Reply to this message
sunnycheeks84, your right, When I lived in Perth I probably did consider jumping off a bridge, would have been a lot better than living in that hole of a hick town. But instead I moved interstate.

Perth is boring, because you don’t get an option, if you want to go somewhere on Sunday, its usually closed, so tough, if you want to go somewhere after work its usually closed, so tough.

In Sydney because most things are open 24 hours I can do things when I want. What I like for fun is none of your business, but I don’t find anything fun in Perth, and neither does anyone I know who lives there. I know people who have gone to Perth for holidays and left early because they ran out of things to do.

Perth isn’t safe, no way would I walk around there at night, Northbridge is a hell hole and then the city is all closed up and Dark, Sydney I walk around any time of the night and it feels safe.

The education system is a joke, I hear people on here saying how WA offers world class in Education, I don’t think so. Have a look at where it’s rated in the world – then comment.

I mean what does Perth even offer a tourist? A filthy river, a dull forshore, rude people, idiots everywhere (all you need is to put your clock forward and it throw’s them all into a panic), crap shopping, dangerous train stations, crap public transport – and expensive transport compared to Sydney, Perth offer’s nothing, nothing at all. Now times that by a thousand and you get what its like living there, I mean you can only go to Markets & Fair’s so many time, you can only go to Hillarys so many times. What can you do on a Sunday? (I’d like to hear something different than going for a walk in the park or to the beach) nothing else.

In my own opinion I think the whole state of Wait Awhile (WA) should be pushed off into the Indian ocean.

Just look at every other state, they all have something to offer, except WA.

Perth is a Dullsville, always has been and by the looks of it, always will b ...

Re:Perth is not Dullsville Reply to this message
m cc06, you put yourself on a petistool because you live Sydney, when realistically the Gold Coast and Melbourne are Australias to cities as far as what they offer. Both have better nightlife and dining then Sydney, both have better people, Gold Coast has far better beaches and Melbourne has a superior social and sport calendar.

You complain about Perth have a crap transport system. Well your right but its heading in the right direction. Unlike Sydney traffic which aint heading anywhere because everyones in gridlock.

Sydney is open 24 hours. Thats an advantage. And when Perth has 5 million people hopefully we will be open 24 hours and then you and that bogan ausgal can hang out at Woolworths at 1.15am in the morning since you make it out like its so exciting. I meran me and my friends always sit around on Friday nights thinking "geez, i wish Coles was open because i dont really feel like going out to watch one of the great Perth bands from the most kick ass music scene in the country" Thats Perth. And Melbourne and Brisbane have far superior music scenes then Sydney. Hell so does Adelaide.
I know people that went to Sydney and after they saw the Opera House and the Zoo didnt know what else to do (maybe they should have went to Coles)
And you call us hicks? Thats interesting, especially since the event that embaressed this country and its people and totally changed the meaning of the Aussie flag for the worse happened in Sydney. 3 words. Cronulla Beach Riots.
And dont even start me on redfern.
Our education system is a joke? That would hurt if it come out of a mouth of a Victorian, since they really do have the best education system in the country (and the best Unis and brains trust)

We want to get pushed off the map, into our own little country, especially since its all our wealth that keeps the rest of the country going and we get none of it back. It all goes into making sure that the countries most over populated city doesnt cave in on itself.

You have still failed to answer what you can do in Perth after 5 on a weekday or on a Sunday? – remember, it has to be something other than Going for a walk in the Park or going to the beach.

Havent got time to do anything. To busy cashing in on the resources boom making a truck load of money. Of course, if I was in Sydney I could go down to the local Woolies and check out whats on special at 11.42pm at night.

Your kidding yourself if you think tourists are entertaining themselves in Sydney mate. The Gold Coast and Melbourne are where there going.

trevorsteamboat, let me also point out a few things to you.

m cc06, you put yourself on a petistool because you live Sydney, when realistically the Gold Coast and Melbourne are Australias to cities as far as what they offer. Both have better nightlife and dining then Sydney, both have better people, Gold Coast has far better beaches and Melbourne has a superior social and sport calendar.
----
The issue here isn’t the Gold Coast or Melbourne, I think they are both great cities, the issue here is Perth being a Dullsville.
-----------

You complain about Perth have a crap transport system. Well your right but its heading in the right direction. Unlike Sydney traffic which aint heading anywhere because everyones in gridlock.
----
How long has it been now? 10 years trying to work out the Mandurah line?. As for gridlock in Sydney, it’s not actually that bad, well nothing compared to the Mitchell heading north at 5:15pm. There is also no need for a Car in Sydney as the Trains go everywhere.
-----------

especially since its all our wealth that keeps the rest of the country going and we get none of it back. It all goes into making sure that the countries most over populated city doesn’t cave in on itself.
---
Go get your facts and figures on the economy and wealth of both Sydney and Perth and then re-comment.

Re:Perth is not Dullsville Reply to this message
Why do people, especially Perth people always avoid a question they cant answer? This topic aint about Sydney – there are lots to do in Sydney, but you’ll have to go to the NSW Forum for that one.

Now, I’ll ask again what can Perth offer after 5pm on a weekday or Sunday – apart from a walk in the park or going to the beach. Still cant answer it? I cant answer it as there is nothing else to do. Like I said, it’s a dullsville.

In Sydney I can do everything I could do in Perth PLUS more.

I’m not into hanging around shops either, but I am 22 and into nightlife, if I went out to Northbridge I have a high chance of being stabbed, and would also have to leave early to make sure I catch that last train home which is before 1am. In Sydney I can go out anywhere in Sydney at night with nightlife, not worry about being stabbed (all out yobbos are contained in Redfern and stay there) I can then leave the nightclub when I want as the Trains stop before 3am, but while they stopped they have replacement bus’s to get everyone home, trains then start again at 5am. So its really efficient and organised – safe too.

So I’m still waiting for an answer - Perth offer after 5pm on a weekday or Sunday – apart from a walk in the park or going to the beach.

"the issue here isnt the Golds Coast or Melbourne...the issue is Perth being Dullsville" No doubt, but if I were hearing the argument form someone who exactly lived in a great city (and not that over rated harbour city), maybe it would hurt. But Ive spent alot of time in all 3 and Sydney is the least appealing so your opinion of this city doesnt bother me.

"there is no need for a car in Sydney as the trains go everywhere" Your just jealous because we can still park in the city, and on top of that if we take the train were home by midnight.

As as for the "wealth", you not seriously sitting here trying to tell me that WA isnt in the middle of a resources boom and currently the only state whos economy isnt a little stagnant right now. Mate, stop listening to David Koch and reading Womans Day and start reading the big boy papers.

Didnt you used to live in WA but couldnt find a job? Under qualified perhaps? How could you not get a job in WA at the moment? Theres way to many jobs and no people. I know people who didnt graduate school who are making $100,000 a year in the mines (eerr thats in WA to not Sydney. The only resource that Sydney has is b#@!4hit

Re:Perth is not Dullsville Reply to this message
m cco6 and im waiting for my answer what can I do in Sydney if I take shopping and the nightlife out of the equation?

" if i went out to northbridge i have a chance of being stabbed" If I went to Cabramatta id have a good chance of being robbed. If i went to redfurn Id have a good chance of being bashed. So i guess i could go to Kings Cross without any issue? Mate, ive never met any stabbed in Northbridge, let only been beaten up in a pub. But with Sydney youve got young girls getting gang raped in the park, whole suburbs which are avoided by the general public. Oh and The Cronulla Beach riots, lets not forget that.

What do I do with my time? Well when I have it I visit friends, I eat out out many of Perths great restaurants, I drink at many of Perths great establishments, I see live bands (but i dont nightclub) I surf, I go 4wd. And the list goes on.

I would walk through Kings Cross alot quicker than I would Northbridge. On that note, I'm off out.

Enjoy your weekend and Sunday, oh sorry I forgot it's all closed, enjoy your park. And remember dont get confused by that whole extra hour.
