Go to Victoria markets, you will find better meat for half of the price you find it here. As for the freight issue, that is not an open and shut case. Many items now come here drop shipped from the point of manufacturer, which means that on many occasions they pay less for shipping than those on the East. Retail in Perth is the biggest rip off in the Southern Hemisphere, it is also the worst as far as selection and is a major reason for us not attracting tourists.

Purchased retail items in Melbourne the same as WA
Tourists luv it over here,just ask them you might be surprised with what you get told,but you probably wouldn't listen anyway,some how I don't think you'll ever be happy. |

One question I always have about WA, is that why is every step forward objected to by the same vocal minority groups.
It does not matter if it is a new railway line, a resort at exmouth, a new swan river foreshore development.
it is always the same vegan greenies who loudly object, marching the streets in their dirty old clothes covering their dirty unwashed bodies, yet the WA LaboUr goverment listens to these low life nobodys.

Interesting, your comment about Vic markets is just not accurate, I was there three weeks ago and I can assure you that there was a huge difference in the price of meat.
As for tourists, you are miles off base, the fact is Perth has a hard time drawing overseas tourists. |

The thugs who traveled down from Perth to bash a guy (which resulted in his death)in Mandurah last week for fun were white so please don't make this a race issue.
If you are going to make it a race issue I will tell you that when I was last in Melbourne I could not help noticing that there seemed to be more Asians than white people. It doesn't bother me as I'm not racist. It was just an observation. |

i went to perth. it was ok, but the nightlife was abit dull.
not bagging perth as it was really hot and nice but if u wanna party nothing is better than darling harbour, king street warf or the cross for that. lol coke was like impossible to get any quality. |

| I have to agree with mcc_06 in that the people of Perth are so rude. I live in Perth and am forever amazed about how rude everyone is. I have been pretty much all around the world and I can tell you that even the French have more manners than we do! And nothing against the French. I just think that we are a very young and immature city and have lots of growing up to do. Other than that, Perth is beautiful and ias so far a lovely place to bring up a family. Although things are changing with all the home invasions, etc. |

back to the question. perth is a capital city. so like all cities there is something to do. just maybe perth doesnt have the entertainment districts that are easy to find like in melbourne sydney or on surfers. |

| I'm in in my late 30s's and single no kids and was born in Dullsville,"lived" most of my life here.Spent 2 years living in Melbourne,probably the happiest times of my life.Yea Perth is a parochial shithole imho and I've no long term plans to stay here - thinking about moving back to Melbs next year, I may even try that ratrace called Sydney- why the hell not? I'm wasting my time here in DV that's for sure. |
