Since we became a two team stupid-ball town all the other sports we used to see and hear about are more or less deceased.
Baseball - Perth Heat still exists but no coverage I know of
Field Hockey - gone
Ice Hockey - gone
Basketball - barely survives and only because it was smart enough to get off the winter timezone
Rugby League - gone
We did get a Rugby Union team so one code for another there I suppose.
Over the years we have let go of:
Pro surfing (World Event) at Mag's River
Manjimup World Class Motocross
World Rally Championship
The Air Race is likely to go to Sydney.
The Hopman Cup always seems to be under threat.
What do we get in its place - stupid-ball lets kill the Dorkers (because they were the expansion team) get the $4m back and stick it back in to the sports it killed off. |
