Has anybody signed up with these guys and had real issues? I signed up with them back in September (i think) for $600 - 'lifetime garuntee'.. the guy only showed up 3 times & ignores your calls.. I have no problem paying for what Ive used ( 3 sessions0 but I want the rest refunded. He was cruel, tried to beat the personality out of the dog and just stopped coming but it turns out after speaking to a few people they have had the same thing happen!
any body else? Please say if youve had toruble with bark busters.. |

| mate, best to do it yourself, get a breeder or animal trainers advice if you havent done it before, you need to address boredom and get the environment right, its not that hard but works best on the reward system. Quite often the dogs only barking to get a reaction from you so a second party trainer doesnt always get the goods |

| you can buy a dog collar that gives a snall electric shock every time the dog barks...soon stops them. my mate got one for his collie that was driving them mad but put it on his own neck and barked before he put it on the dog to see if it was too painful.just a tingle, but it works. |

| hi saos, my friends have been through exactly the same thing as you, they paid for 6 sessions i think it was and it cost them $600 the bloke only turned up twice and they never heard from him again. He wouldn't return their phone calls either. Report them to the ACCC anyway as they seem to have a reputation for taking off without finishing the agreed sessions. |

Oh good. well not good but at leats it wasnt a once off. If that is the case I want a full refund.he was useless to say the least they are over priced.
Im not a dog trainer and I know i have an emotional attachment to my dog however
- He told me to crate my dog 1.5 / 1.5 23 hours a day
- he would yank the puppy 2 - 3 metres across the road to get her near him
- if walking with her she was only allowed about 90cm of lead and if she sniffed he would yank her...
- not to play with the dog just to elave her to be bby herself. |

saos i work with dogs at a boarding kennel and have trained all my dogs myself. I definitely recommend reporting them to ACCC their way of dealing with animals is a punishment way i mean locking the dog up ina crate is crazy. There is no need to ever lock your dog up. You don't need to yank the puppy to get her near him and if you leave your dog alone all the time and never play with her you will end up with more problems then you dstarted with.
Request a full refund and write a letter of complaint to them and also send a copy of the letter to the ACCC. Their approach to educating a dog is wrong. If you like saos IM me and i will get youcontact details for a reputable trainer from my work. |

Why would you get a FAMILY dog to not have it as a family pet to play with?
shes an amazing little puppy but gosh he gave her a temper and she was attacking people and everything. |

Not sure, but one would thin kthat they would want to distance themselves from people like him.
You should also tell the rspca. |

| I also have had a horrible experience, They threw training aids "chains in small bags" at the floor in front of my dogs, I had them come out for 4 dogs, one which had fighting issues with my other dogs ($900.00) My dogs actually got worse. They did nothing to correct this. Since they couldn't use the training aids they had nothing else. |

I hired barkbusters for my 4 dogs, one which is aggressive towards my other dogs. The trainer came out with "training Aids" which are chains in a little bag. To train your dogs anything you are supposed to growl and throw a training aid on the floor at the dogs feet until the bad behavior stops or the dog does what you are commanding it to do. My dog became more aggressive after the training. After doing everything the trainer asked us to do with our dogs, they were no better then before the training and our one dog became more aggressive. I called the trainer out repeatedly with no successful training done, although he did come out to the house. I called the corporate office for a different trainer or approach since my dog was more aggresive and they offered me nothing. I asked if the trainer could come back out and not throw the aids on the floor at my dog because it makes her more aggressive and they told me that is there system and that is what the trainer will do. I received nothing from this program except for a 900.00 deficit in my checking account and 4 out of control dogs. |

| so do something about it Barkbusters head office were really good when I lodged the complaint however they said they would get back to me by tuesday (this week) with an answer but they havent. Ive decided to let them call back by today but again they havent so instead of the refund initially being about $500 (as i was happy to pay for the collar, lead & the 3 bags plus the 3 appointments.. Now theyve wasted my time & i can see the whole company is dodgy so Ive lodged my complaint with the ACCC and I will be demanding a 100% refund. |

I can honestly say I had no problems with my dogs with using Barkbusters. My 2 german shepards would pull when walking now they walk alongside me and there is no need to yank them and they love walking. I can even trust them off the lead with what was showing to us.
Thye whole idea is to be part of the dog mentality and as you as the alpha dog. I can see what you mean though.
I hope your problems have been sorted by now |

| obviously he didn't know what he was doing, the guy we had came out 3 times and did a great job for us. I think it is more training the owner then the actual dog as yoy have to think in how the dog looks at things and their pack mentality and you have to be confident with your dog and show them you are the alpha dog and that it is your way not theirs. You give the dog an inch and they take a mile :) |
